Not the biggest doc defender but he and Embiid got roasted for a lot less than that

That's because it was peak fraud season where everyone thought that Ben was a perennial all star and it was blasphemy that Doc and Joel couldn't figure out how turn a role playing PF into a "championship PG". Now that he's been one long wet fart with two actual all stars, it's clear he's just a role player now.

Bum Simmons sucks and he costed us so much it's not even funny, we would have at least 1 championship by now if we resigned Butler instead of appeasing this atrocity of a player. And the best thing is, this was peak Simmons, he is washed up now.

1. Nets are a problem for us matchup wise and we should try to avoid them before the ECF. (If we can get that far..) I like KD and have been following the Nets often times. The reason why Nets match up well against us is because of their switching defense.

2. Biid got into his own head. He needs to calm down and just play his game. If Biid was right, this game would not have been close. I expect him to be much better in their next meetings vs Nets as he's now got the emotional bits out of his system hopefully.

3. Harrell is unplayable in the playoffs. He can give us good regular season mins but Paul Reed would probably see more mins in the playoffs due to his D. This begs the question. If we do not play Paul Reed, can we please get a backup C who's servicable? That should be a priority for Morey.

4. When we play the Nets, please let Harden/Maxey go one on one on Curry the moment he's on the floor. Stop feeding Embiid and worrying about getting him looks. Just attack Curry relenlessly. Similarly, let Harris switch onto Joe Harris whenever he's on the floor. (remember the first meeting Harris owned Harris?). This is particularly important when it comes to the playoffs as that's a weakness we can take advantage of.

5. Nets shot ridiculously and still lost. I do not think they can shoot light outs next time even with KD back. It will always be a fun matchup regardless.

I agree with a lot with what you said.

Regarding Nets scoring that good. Well, we could play better defense BUT we were still able to beat then right? That speaks of how good we are on offense.

Yes without KD . Healthy KD is basically unguardable don't know if we can go toe to toe with a healthy KD and Kyrie down the stretch in a close game without at least playing enough defense to prevent the role guys from easy and open baskets.

It’d be difficult to go toe to toe down the stretch vs the Nets. I would argue no teams in the NBA would be able to do that.

Having said that, there are a ton of ways to counter that which include playing good D as you said, Embiid being Embiid and winning the matchup against Claxton which is a must, dominating the boards and finally Hacking a Ben Simmons/Nic Claxton strategically. We might see the last one a lot in the playoffs.

That's a great point. "All-Star" Ben Simmons was a complete fraud, yet what we are witnessing now is what you'd expect Simmons to play like if he was 36 and refused to retire.

Simmons can still be aggressive when he wants like when he sees a zero defender like Harrell but he needs to feel slighted to bring it out. His natural tendency is just to skate out there on the court for millions. I imagine that he feels internally our whole city and former teammates treated him unfairly and he can channel that in the WFC. Feeding off our crowd's hate he'll play the best ball he'll play anywhere. I think he did well from the line this game out of pure unadulterated spite for the fans. That said, it'll never be more impactful than your average mid-level exception signing.

I dont know why nobody has talked about this. Ben was asked how was the crowd on this game. He said if it was an 8 in the previous game, this one is more like a 7.5
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

Nets don't care. To give some back story Ben has been sitting out B2B with back soreness and a whole host of DNP. This has been building for a while.

Ben clearly has zero respect of the team.

He is out against the Knicks too. Simmons maybe at the end of his rope with Nets though they let Kyrie back so who knows what their bottom is.

"Knee soreness" is again the official report
