The only way I'm gonna shut up is to say this.

When we draft Wemby, we should trade him to OKC on draft night. They are the only team with the parts and they are not in our conference.

Could/would they give us (in a 4-teamer) Brandon Miller, their pick (10th-ish), 3 OKC future 1st's, and our pick back from NYK? NYK is the team with our pick, right? Wemby might be the next Kareem, but what if he gets injured? I'm not even saying he's fragile. Anyone can get injured, plus there are other advantages to a balanced package.

Put all my talking together and we have

Cade/Suggs/Franz + 10th-ish pick (perhaps Cason or Jett)
B.Miller/D.Brooks/G.Williams
Stew/Duren

9 guys = deep in and of itself. Try to get vets on small contracts at every position around them I guess. Then 3 G-League types.
How could they not be in the playoffs next year with a bright future? Brandon Miller could end up as a superstar too.

Officially I would offer D.Brooks and G.Williams 4y/110m each. That's the only way we get them, I think.

I’d consider it if we got Chet, there pick this year, plus four more 1st round picks, and a couple 2nd rd picks

lol, I'm waiting for one other Pistons fan to say they would. And it has to be to OKC for me, so if they don't come correct on their offer, it wouldn't matter.

Does Wemby happen to have something close to Mamba Mentality? I mean I wonder if there is a chance that he just doesn't live up to his potential even if he maintains health. He still would be great. As far as my example goes, Wemby might become legendary, but Brandon Miller could still make some all-pro teams lol. Anyways, I'm mainly just asking you a sincere question about Wemby's potential.

Chet is the true risky risk though, isn't he? I'd take Brandon Miller over him who has one more year of rookie contract lol. With Chet or Wemby we pretty much have to trade Duren and what if the offer isn't good enough? *shrug*
EDIT: well maybe Chet and maaaaaybe even Wemby for all I know (who doesn't have a good 3pt% despite his highlight vids leading us on) could play the 4. I'm not sure if that would mean we trade Beef Stew, but either way I love me some Beef Stew. And maybe better, we could just use a 3 like Brandon Miller in the obvious way for balance over Big Chet. And since you went there, I'm always for acquiring 2nd's. More than a couple is even better lol.

It's definitely a chance he's a bust but the guy has legit best player in the league potential. The NBA is about quality not quantity this ain't the NFL where their is a lot more talent in drafts.

I know you're right, but there's always the 2004 Pistons who could've won more ships with even better GM stuff.

I wanna say that maybe we have a couple too many guys who are almost the same age. Future 1st's in the distance are cool in that way too. I just recently saw the light (imo) that we need to unload Bojan and Burks though lol. They're a bit too old and taking up cap space with it.

Alec Burks getting the start and showcasing his potential value gives other GM's something to watch and think about over these two weeks. All we need is one who gets desperate and overpays.

Wish we could too.
You'd think warriors would want to go for it and get another piece or 2 to help them this year.

Looney Green Wiggins Klay Steph
Poole Donte and our very own Bojan or Burks+Noel

They give us their youth. Wiseman with Moody for Burks+Noel or add in Kuminga with them for Bojan. Sprinkle in 2nds.

We basically just have Duren and Stew up front. Duren and Wiseman 24mins each at Center. Kuminga Bey at SF and Kuminga Stew at PF.

If we miraculously get Wemby we figure it out after. Would be a good problem to have.

Warriors would want to more likely though

So Knicks were the team that offered 3 1st rounders to raps for OG.
Bojan to the Knicks and we can get our 1st back and maybe another 1st and/or a young player

Our first round pick we traded to Houston being handed around a ton. Bet the Knicks move it too. It's looking more and more likely to be a 2nd rounder instead of a first as each year passes and we don't get better.

This year and next year its protected 1-18 and its looking super unlikely we'll have to give it up next year. Of course 2025 its possible because its only protected 1-13 so hopefully we're a playoff team by 2025 and it conveys then.

If that pick doesn't convey by 2025, Weaver will (or better be) gone. That HAS TO be a playoff year.

Overpaying each a little, but that's life or whatever. There would be no more debating between those two guys and they could both play together fine.

Another fanboy trade here: DET/ORL
Ivey & Bey
for
Franz & Suggs

I don't understand the Suggs situation to be honest, but Franz would definitely help a lot and we don't know if Ivey will definitely help a lot. Suggs could defend pg's when he shares the floor with Cade.

Zero chance Magic do that. They (rightfully) view Franz as a cornerstone.

What do you think would be a fair offer for Mo Bamba? We could definitely use more size at center.

He's someone to look at, but only after the draft lottery or later imo.

Portland fans offer -

Blazers out: Simons, Nas Little, Keon Johnson, Winslow (expiring)
Pistons out: Bojan, Bey, Hayes, Noel

or

Blazers out: Simons, Brown
Pistons out: Bojan, Bey
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Noel and cash.

Bamba is a player with some effort would be a very good center. We’re like 4 1/2 seasons into his career and you have a player who shows inconsistent effort and disappears for entire games sometimes. You take away his contract season, crazy how he suddenly looked like he belonged in the NBA with a new contract coming up, and you have a guy who’d make like $5-7 million a season tops.

Say Noel gets cut, I feel we could pick up a tall g league player and get comparable ability for a fraction of the cost/investment.
