At the Hive is getting shut down. That's a bummer. We need all the Hornets coverage we can get.

Convince them to post their stuff here on RealGM.

But I read the sites can stay up, they just won't be supported by SB Nation anymore. They got rid of the NHL and MLS sites too.

The NBA is such an amazing league that cares for its players, fans and coaches that imo it can often get taken advantage of...

What I mean by that is, I am sure many players have either faked injuries or exaggerated them. I wish they had a PLAY FOR PAY policy, or YEAR ONE guaranteed and the rest you have to play for.

I care about the players that's why I think they should get some guarantee, and could care less about how many games they miss but I do not like anyone taken advantage of anything...

Welp I bid a fairwell to being a Panthers fan. They have found their new coach. One who was just fired and who has an average career at best imo.

To the Panthers fans here I wish you good luck. May you continue to represent them with the class that you have always displayed. I cannot support a team or league that is one step above Garbage on its best day.

Go Steelers.... Through it all you have remained 5 steps above the rest.. I salute you...

seriously? you are quitting over the hiring of reich? reich is legit quality offensive hire. its fair to say wilks deserved the job, yes. but tepper wanted an offensive guy it seems.

Well, the Hornets are too lol...we are used to this constant purgatory with our teams.

The hire sucks. Reich has failed 3 places already with terrible offenses. This is slightly better than the Hornets hiring Clifford, which was very bad

Reich was hired because he is an offensive coach. Pretty much simple as that. All the top teams have offensive HC's. Just the way it is in todays NFL.

He's a former Panther player too. So despite the players liking Wilks, I think they'll like Reich too.

If there was ANY REASON to change teams a lack of fairness WOULD BE THAT REASON.
Thats what a mature, and fair person would do.
I could care less about wins and losses...
Maybe when I was 15 years old I would have but at 45 years old things like lack of fairness weigh heavier in my decision making...

They wanted an OFFENSIVE COACH...? So why not hire *BYRON LEFTWHICH*?
He just helped Brady win a chip a couple years back who was probably over the hill or near it in doing so?
Or why not give African Americans (or since I am a SUPER FAIR PERSON) *other minorities* a chance at
OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR POSITION...?

Their league thinks they are slick af hiding behind we want OFFENSIVE COACHES but not giving minorities a chance at
coaching offensive positions...

They just hired one who was a COLLEGE COACH and he got fired mid way, only to hire a guy who was fired for the
same reason who is an OFFENSIVE COACH rather than to re-hire a guy who stepped in and did a better Job than both combined.

Last post about the PANTHERS but the only way I root for the Panthers next year is if they draft Bryce Young, or CJ Stroud.

What if they are gone by #9 or price to move up is astronomical?

It's ok if they are gone. I will still be a fan if any of these guys are taken

Anthony Richardson, Malik Cunningham, Thendon Hooker, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, Jayden Daniels

or even our current PJ Walker

You're one of my favorite posters here man, so please don't take this as antagonism, but:

Why not give Reich a chance? Because he's not black? That doesn't seem very "fair"

I didn't really want Reich either, preferring the OC from Philly but I understand why they went Reich.

-Tepper wanted offense (for good reason)
-His last hire was a guy who didn't have experience so he probably shied away from the younger folks
-Derivative of above, he's probably feeling a little antsy with the **** records, so he wants an established guy who isn't as likely to bust
-Reich has tons of Carolina connections as a player and coach
-Apparently has a good relationship with the well-regarded Fangio (going back to Carolina days)
-Due to experience, can hopefully poach guys from other places, like Philly, and build a strong staff
-Better record than Wilks as a HC
-Has been a part of multiple top 10 offenses (I think I saw a tweet of 4 out of last 10 years top 10 in yards and points?)

Honestly, there are a lot of things to like about the hire. The Colts owner seems like a bit of a weirdo and the prevailing opinion (by even Colts fans) is that it was dumb to fire Reich in the first place, and it was done under some shiesty circumstances.

If he can bring in Fangio, keep the ST and O/D Line guys, and fixes the **** offense the Panthers have had for what seems like a decade now, they have easily the strongest coaching staff the team has ever seen

I think it's only right that I take Duke off of my interests / profile / whatever. I haven't watched a Duke game in a couple years and don't have any interest in learning who is currently on the roster. I used to be exclusively a college basketball guy, and have officially transitioned to 100%. Have lost all interest in college basketball other than as draft prospects, and that's not enough to get me to actually watch games.

Well, Byron sucked last year too. Wilks had an open tryout for the job and failed in a must win Tampa game, they were purely outcoached, not outplayed. Tampa wanted nothing to do with that win or the playoffs, they just wanted to get to the end of the season as quickly as possible, and Wilks failed to secure that game.

As far as black coaches, I definitely would have welcomed Brian Flores or Demeco Ryans. I thought if Pittsburgh was really bad Tomlin would move on and he'd be our next head coach with Tepper's connections. I really liked Saleh last cycle, but unfortunately we kept Rhule. My distaste of Wilks had nothing to do with race, I really liked the guy, its just that he had a chance and got outcoached, and it left a bad taste in my mouth.

I used to love college bball, but the product has just been really bad for the last 15 years. Its incredibly boring to watch. That Felton/May Carolina title is about the last time I religiously watched.

College basketball is rough to watch. Ive been watching a ton of NCAA this year to scout this draft class. I really think all amateur bball in the US needs to move to FIBA rule set.

The last draft I was really into, and I mean into as in I watched all the draft express profiles like 10X each, was when we drafted Frank.

Now I just look at mocks sometimes and let UNCNYC do the scouting for me.
