I think keeping Shai happiest will be by maximizing the roster so that we can win. Dort's contract is prohibitive towards doing that with the way he's playing.

His contract gonna be an issue in 2-3 seasons, not right now. I would love to trade Dort ASAP but I think Presti will wait at least another season.

There is the financial aspect of this but also the roster construction aspect. We might be able to afford Dort for 2-3 seasons but improving the roster alongside Shai needs to start now.

for most of the game, lu dort and the 'big' (kenrich williams) were switching the trae young pnr. what's the point of even having a player like lu dort in the game if you're going to switch? after we did these switches is when we'd get murdered in the paint either directly in the roll or off 2nd chance points because dort / whoever switched on the backside (not k. williams) were severely disadvantaged.

a couple possessions later in the game dort went under / through the screens and the defense was better, although trae young did score on him a couple times including and and-1 where he appeared to muscle his way into the paint.

i'm more or less done with lu dort. giddey in year 2 has already matched his scoring efficiency. and i think his impact defensively is not the same as it was before, and will be even less important once chet returns. giddey/sga/j.williams seem like the wings the team will prioritize moving forward, and dort will be the jeff green casualty.

I have less of a problem with the initial switch and more of a problem with the way dort tries to switch back after. It leaves the guy that Dort switched with in no-man’s land and oftentimes a third defender will try to cover space, which leaves the whole set in disarray. It feels like Lu is deadset on being “the guy” on defense, trying to make sure guys like Josh don’t get stuck on an island with the Jamal Murrays of the world. But like….it doesn’t work.

I don’t really want Mann get many minutes but no need to move him yet if we move bazley.

Morant getting more media votes than Shai just shows they dont really watch games and only watch highlights. Even if you wanted to try and argue Morant has been better offensively which is questionable, Shai has been multiple leagues better on the defensive end.

Eh. Considerably better team success should matter some in players that are close. No complaints here. Give it a year.

We look good except for the stretch with Mann, Dieng, and baze. That stretch was garbage. I want a ton of jaylen, giddey, SG, Wiggins, Joe, Kenrich in the second half.

I just want to see less of some players. This team is really good when shai, Jalen, giddey, Kenrich, Joe, Wiggins and Dort are on the floor. Dieng and mann are negatives. Baze and moose are meh. I’m loving that core group. Wish they’d stay with them except for spot minutes for the meh guys. And maybe jaylin. He’s shot weirdly well.

Bazely is being shopped I think . Moose is there cause he’s a big . Dieng is there cause we need bigs .
