He's talking preseason. SGA went from 3.5 to 5 stars with increases across the board.

He's just **** talking though. He knows Brown is tanked in the ratings.

Y'all don't get it. Certain players are always overrated in the sim (Westbrook is an example). Certain players are always underrated in the sim (JB for example). JB's real life production is the worst it's been (relative to the league average) in 3 years. His ratings aren't going up because you think the people behind the sim will magically realize they've been underrating JB this whole time even though his numbers haven't improved like that. He'll be more efficient, worse defensively, and not that different from this year.

I know you think you'll get that bump next year but it really doesn't fit their MO.

E-Balla is right, the bumps incoming to Curry/Bane/Joker.... Put it this way whatever tiny bump anyone else might get is NEGLIGIBLE. Also although Brown star rating is lower he still plays like a star - that is also why I traded Beal who was 4.5 star for 3.5 star Brown last season.

Truth be told I didnt know he had a injury history but IRL he would have never left my team...I would have had him in the G-league
getting better etc...

I'll say this though when it comes to star ratings. Maybe their algorithm changed since then but when I won the chip I think my team had the most 4-5 stars in the league. I personally just build my team off players I like IRL and that approach has won me a two chips. Sounds like going forward Ima have to download the SIM like yall and study it

My observation is the sim seems to lag a year or two on raw production spikes or declines. This axiom has served me well but we shall see.

This going back to my first year with Pau who played like prime Pau in 2017. SGA this year when previous years would have supported a spike. Many others.

Sign good players to good contracts. Trade for good small contracts. Rebuild quickly and maintain your flexibility.

Idgaf who lands a free agent as long as they are overpaying. They end up handcuffing themselves or ultimately someone else.

star ratings do matter in the SIM. however, over the years, the developers have made it so fit, and more individualized stat ratings (def, outside shooting, passing, oreb, etc) matters more.

when i first started using this SIM more than 10 years ago, they didn't really have, or factor in, offense strategy, tendencies. things like the coach mattered more to the success.

it's more important to have a 3-star guy who fits the mold of your team better, than a 4-star guy who would usually put up numbers, but won't based on the team they're on.

but that being said, star ratings do matter in determining the overall level of the player, as well as how you should factor them into value

Joker aint getting no sim bump, but yeah Curry is gonna be game breaker

I really think my team matches well with Spurs on paper, they dont have anyone to guard Luka and Ingram, but they have lot of size now in their lineup with Dray

Yeah with coaching strategies and player tendencies it’s more than putting a bunch of good players together. Now it’s about actually putting in work to build a team that fits. I learned this from Eballa and MPH. Just wish I knew what I know now at the beginning of free agency.

For example, I was upset about kawhi 3.5 rating, but the way MPH explained it, it really doesn’t matter because of his efficiency and defense. I just need to get the ball in his hands. So pairing him with multiple scorers doesn’t make sense. Also I wouldn’t trade him for some 5 star guys
