There are a few things going on I this thread
1.) The Tatum hit on Lebron's arm. It seems most people agree that it was a foul, and it cost them winning the game in regulation. So if we agree it was a foul, then we need to put 1.5 seconds on the clock, Lebron likely hits at least one and the Celtics likely have 1.5 seconds and a timeout.
2.) Before the foul on Lebron, he takes three strides before going up with the shot. It looked like something wasn't right in real time as he covered a lot of ground, but it's most obvious when you watch the replay after the technical foul as OT started. I did not go through the 14 pages of this thread but I did read a lot but no mention of this. So in terms of respect, would Pat Beverly gotten the same grace on his way to the hoop?
3.) The Lakers lost the game because of the Tatum call. If we just want to disregard the traveling call as "everybody does it" then you also disregard the time on the clock the Celtics would have had ( if you call the Tatum foul and disregard the travel). You also assume the Lakers had no chance of winning the game in overtime.
4. Conspiracy theory- the calls always go against my team. We are all biased in favor or our team, but do we really think this is happening or is it just out own bias.
5.) Can we now consider changing the rules on winning challenges and if you get it right you don't lose your challenge? The Tatum play was not challengeable. Should this change on obvious calls?
Brad Stevens on fans who want the Celtics to tank: "I don’t think they’ll like me all that much then."

This was pretty egregious too. I don't know if it's "rigged", but this is unacceptable. He threw it right to Horford. On the jump ball to start the game, Horford didn't even jump, and that was against Thomas Bryant.

Ironically an equally terrible jump ball was thrown in the Mavs game they lost when Wood fouled LeBron too.

LOL at all the memes. (Swipe to see the video.) Crazy how clear that foul was and the ref was right next to the action, too.

Two facts:

Bron should have made the damn layup.

And

Lebron deserves to get that call anyways.

Ok, they are opinion.

Vogel must be a Lebron stan too. Benching Westbrook despite his obvious impact so Lebron can chase stats. Disgusting. Thankfully we have objective posters like you that actually watch the games to call these things out.

Yeah. Dude went into COLD as balls and still made plays to keep the Lakers in it. This is OBJECTIVELY true. Sorry. If he got burn in the 4th, it's possible that the Lakers wouldn't be in that position in OT.

But I'm under the presumption that most posters here didn't even realize that the game went into OT let alone Westbrook played.

So I'll fall back.

Exactly. What an amazing player. 2 whole plays despite being cold. You know how hard it is to bring energy against guys that are super warmed up from playing basically an entire quarter at the end of a game? If Vogel wasn't so blinded by his hate and actually played him, maybe he could have had 3 impactful plays.

Who's Vogel?

:noway: :noway: This is just getting ridiculous now….. You could nit pick a million things that happen in a game that would favor a team. Now we’re complaining about jump balls…..Lebron has gone to to the free throw line more than anyone in the history of the game, prob two minutes into the next game he’ll get a favorable call that should have went the other way. It happens to every team. If someone wants to give a stat that shows it has happened to their team more often this year you could prob go back to a previous year that shows the opposite. According to fans there hasnt been one single game in the history of basketball that was reffed fairly.

Yeah because the NBA has famously always wanted the Lakers to stink.

LMFAO.

No but a lot of these refs grew up on Jordan, and they have their biases. LeBron has been relatively disrespected and has taken less FTs than the likes of KD, Melo, Curry, Harden, Embiid, Tatum, Luka, Butler, Trae, and DD.

Some people will say "but he gets away with travels"...stop it. The entire NBA has gotten away with travel, but LeBron doesn't get calls when hacked.

The skinhead ref is literally staring right at the play in what appears to be perfect position a few feet away. The explanation cannot be “we missed the call”.

No matter how you want to slice it that no call in the final seconds on what would have been the game winning shot should never happen in an nba game in a million years. It simply should never ever happen. What we want to construe from it happening as fans is another thing but its somewhat disingenuous for you to act like some other call in the 1st qtr of another game magically makes up for it.

It's also not enough (or anything really) for the NBA to simply say the refs missed the call. We know that. They need to explain *how* that official missed the call. What else is he supposed to be looking for on that play after LeBron starts his drive if not a foul like that? How did he not see such blatant contact when he had a perfect live angle?

I'm trying to think of a player equivalent of that missed call. It's as if LeBron had the ball at the top of the key in that exact spot with the game tied, was staring at the game clock, and just did nothing, let the clock run out.

I am not going to feel bad when LeBron has been getting a favorable whistle for 2 decades

Lol, Tatum is shooting almost 9 FTs per game, last time LeBron shot more than that was 13 years ago during his first Cavs stint. Yet one gets favorable whistle for 2 decades and one is not getting calls. That is some alternate reality stuff.

 This is obviously not true as he just took 15 vs Charlotte. Maybe the fact that he doesnt attack nearly as much as he did during his prime might have something to do with it. Same reason Tatum is getting to the line more now. This should be obvious with his age. He has almost 1k more ft’s then the next guy on the list Harden, arguining he doesnt get calls is silly.
