In this material simulation we all find ourselves sports, politics, news are all scripted to keep us occupied/entertained.

The NBA (just like WWE, NFL, hollywood 'progamming' and political elections) are all scripted 'entertainment' for the masses which is also used to divide us. Alot of the big name sports stars are mainly just athletic actors just like the politicians are actors that are owned by the system. The media is in on the game too where certain events that suit their narratives are broadcast 24/7 as part of mind control. They are telling us in plain sight that the NBA is "entertainment." The E in ESPN is for entertainment.

Haven't you wondered while watching sports the announcers will often proclaim "they couldn't have scripted it any better"!

Thanks for the info, thought the NBA was a non-profit, glad to know the truth.

Lol.

People in here are acting like a sleuth just discovered the Lost Ark, Atlantis, and the Holy Grail and that basketball is going to forever change because of these damning revelations.

It's a simple category designation for business and/or tax purposes that's been public knowledge for years. As mentioned other major professional sports leagues (NFL/MLB/NHL etc.) are categorized the exact same way.

What other designation for professional sports leagues is more appropriate? They aren't an insurance company, they aren't a nonprofit, they aren't a manufacturer making widgets. Entertainment is a broad category.

Can individuals still do shady stuff? Yes, think Tim Donaghy. However any league-approved game fixing would still break numerous laws(think about the sportsbook $$ alone), would destroy the reputation of the NBA, and make this whole entire gravy train dry up for everybody. Do you really think that's the NBA's secret operating plan and why they are an "entertainment" business?

/shrug

By all means though continue to craft your fancy new tinfoil hats!

Why would the NBA have to be in on it? Organized crime has been intertwined with American sports for decades. It's hard to buy off a player (although there's been cases of players throwing games), but it's probably not hard at all to buy out a ref. Politicians let themselves get bought out by lobbyists for $20k and a grilled cheese sandwich ; I bet refs are even cheaper lmao and just as good ROI if not better.

Fortunately for pure basketball there is FIBA tournaments and Euroleague.

Ok, but what does that have to do with the NBA being registered as an entertainment company? That was the whole point of this thread being created.

Organized crime has been intertwined since the inception of professional sports.

As opposed to what? Should I be watching basketball to improve my math and calculation skills instead of being entertained?

How does that legally mean they can fix results?

U can't be held liable when u describe the fraud you're committing. NBA is not claiming to be "real" competition... it's entertainment.

Wide ranging subjectivity of rules = manipulation & control of games.

Obviously the NCAA is the purest form of basketball, existing for the sole purpose of the educational experience they provide student athletes and NIKE.

Adam Silver should walk onto the court at the All-Star games like Vince McMahon.
