Raps broadcast suck but at least I don't have to listen to Austin Carr all the time.

Eric Collins is about the only reason worth watching a Hornets game.

Hornets announcers are the best. Probably my favorite group in the league.

I rarely hear them but when I do I'm always surprised they are the Laker announcers. For such a legendary team they have the most middle of the road, just kind of there and not entertaining announcers ever.

Imagine not realizing the current national announcing crews aren’t worse than breaking glass.

Biased broadcasters are great if they’re funny and over-the-top (e.g. Tommy Heinsohn, Tom McGinnis, David Locke). But when they’re just snooty and snarky like our own Bob Fitzgerald then it’s insufferable.

I know no one watches the Nets broadcast if they're not a Nets fan but they are the best in the business. Ian Eagle has been absent more than usual this season but when the big 3 (Eagle/Sarah Kustok/Richard Jefferson) are available there's no better announcing team and I've heard them all.

As a Warriors' fan I find the local broadcast crew maddening. Bob Fitzgerald is very knowledgeable about the game and clearly does his homework on opposing teams, coaches, and officiating crews. He's a machine of information and stats that he wields dishonestly -- take, for example, Fitz moaning about a 28% three-point shooter hitting three shots from deep early in the game without noting that it's only 10 games into the season and 28% on such a small sample size is meaningless for a shooter who is historically average or above-average from three -- and he's a flagrant propagandist for Joe Lacob.

Kelenna Azubuike is the color commentator who replaced Jim Barnett who never wanted to leave that job. Barnett did a great job of cutting down Fitzgerald when he got too annoying or ra ra. The amount of subtle and passive-aggressive digs Barnett got in at Fitz' expense made the Warriors' broadcast pretty great. But unfortunately Azubuike indulges Fitz and the two them togetherare a vortex of spin and ra ra. This is a shame because there are occasions where Azubuike demonstrates a deep knowledge of the game. But those moments are frustratingly rare and oftentimes he'll point out that something happened and put a name to it without diving deeper into how the set or play occurred.

All of it is frustrating because Fitz has been excellent in the Olympic context when he isn't spinning on behalf of the local team. Azubuike clearly knows his stuff too, but the product they combine to put out is subpar.

Don't have an issue with Kelena, but Fitz, oh god, he's cringe and awful, biased and condescending and whatnot. I hate his commentary with all my heart.

I would like to hear Kelana get a chance with someone besides Fitz before I write him off. Fitz is such a bad homer it's painful and he is so corny that it rubs off on Kelena. At least the Warriors radio announcer, Tim Roye, makes up for how bad the TV broadcast is. In the playoffs I synch up the radio to the TV so I don't have to listen to MJax and SVG who I detest as well.

The radio broadcast is like 5 seconds ahead of TV so I don’t know how you’re pulling that off.

The Bob Fitzgerald hate is strong.

Don't forget how he backstabbed Greg Papa(who was awesome) to get the job:

Well I just watch NBA with whatever commentators I can find online. It doesn't bother me even a bit if they're biased towards any team.

From an experience of my own club I get that more from soccer. I'll say overall the TV channel of my club is not ultra biased, and when they are I can't stand it. It's horrible and shows some posture I don't wanna see.

I'd rather watch with with announcers that are from neither team.

This thread is made every season, I don't know why you would expect any broadcasters to be unbiased. They travel with the team the whole season, they're basically part of the organization. I prefer every single local broadcast to the incredibly vanilla crews we get from ESPN, TNT and NBA TV. I like watching the Lakers' broadcast when we're at home and the opposing team's broadcast when we're away.

I mean as a Celtics fan for close to 30 years I listened to Tommy Heinson who was the biggest Homer in sports history. I did love Tommy but even sometimes I'm like okay the dude has lost it.

As for national broadcasters I know some people get upset if they feel like they're biased but I just couldn't care less.

Agree there are some really bad local commentators across the league. There is a reason why NBA TV when showing the Lakers or Knicks just sticks with those broadcasts.

For me it’s the opposite & I pause live tv to sync it.

Eh..I just try to tune out the announcers for the most part. I do enjoy the background noise of the game itself so I don't ever put them on mute.
