I like this as an OG deal

To PHX:
OG
Juancho
Serge Ibaka

To Toronto
George Hill (waived)
Dario Saric
Jordan Nwora
PHX 2023 1st top 3 protected
PHX 2025 UNP 1st
2027 UNP
3 seconds (from bucks)

To Milwauke:
Jae Crowder

Fred to Orlando. they get the guy they want in the door to extend him for next season. Raptors get a mid Lotto pick to add to theirs.

To Orlando:
Fred VanVleet

To Toronto:
Terrance Ross
Mo Bamba
2023 Bulls 1st

Keep Gary Trent with the hopes of resigning him. Siakam wont be dealt this deadline but revisit at the draft

Bamba/Koloko
Precious/Saric
Pascal/Nwora/Young
Trent/Ross
Barnes/Flynn

probably much worse as a team to go for the lotto. Going into the offseason you get cap flexibility and picks in the 2023 1st round. Id be extremely happy with this outcome.

To reunite OG and Serge in Arizona is absolutely pointless. No one wears scarves in that dry heat.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Fully expecting FVV to still be here post-deadline. GTJ is the most likely candidate to go because I believe the FO views him as a greater flight risk.

The son of a former NBA role player is going to stay loyal to the dollar, first and foremost; and a bad team will surely offer up more than we will.

Bones Hyland is being made available for a defensive option with size. If only Otto Porter was healthy that would have been a perfect swap.

MessiahUjiri wrote:Shams said Suns are interested in OG, and Masai and James Jones were seen together at the Raps/Suns game.

There’s some speculation that it was based on Cam Johnson + 2 1sts, but I think there’s an alternate angle here, with Ayton going to the Raps and Crowder going to the Bucks.

Here’s the deal:

Suns in: OG Anunoby, Gary Trent, Chris Boucher, Serge Ibaka, George Hill, MIL ‘24 2nd
Suns out: DeAndre Ayton, Jae Crowder, [salary]

Raps in: DeAndre Ayton, Jordan Nwora, POR ‘24 2nd
Raps out: OG Anunoby, Gary Trent, Chris Boucher

Bucks in: Jae Crowder, [PHO salary]
Bucks out: George Hill, Jordan Nwora, Serge Ibaka, 2 ‘24 2nds

The Bucks get their guy in Crawford. The Raps get their starting Center. And the Suns move on from some recent troubled guys to a refreshed roster, with 2 of the deadliest defenders in the NBA:

Chris Paul / Cam Payne / George Hill
Devin Booker / Gary Trent / Landry Shamet
Mikal Bridges / Cam Johnson / Torrey Craig
OG Anunoby / Chris Boucher / Dario Saric
Biz Biyombo / Serge Ibaka / (Boucher + Saric)

I love this so much for the Suns. They also get a Chris Paul playoff insurance policy in George Hill, and an instant 6th man in Gary Trent. Their owner has said he’s willing to pay out, which would indicate a willingness to re-up Trent this summer. Their centers would rotate based on matchups.

A duo of Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby would instantly become the best defensive forward duo in the NBA, and likely one of the best in the NBA in a long time. To find such an imposing defensive duo, we’d have to go back to Detroit (Ben Wallace + Rasheed Wallace) or Spurs (David Robinson + Tim Duncan) to find as strong of a defensive front court.
In both cases, these teams won the NBA championship.

If Phoenix wants to go all in with CP3+Book, the move is to go all in with Anunoby.

For the Raps, we would also move FVV, and do a quick retool with a top 5 pick next year. Plus Siakam and Ayton are young enough that they can still work for the next half decade.

Assume Fred fetches the rumored Mann + ‘28 1st + 2nd (gained by rerouting whatever we get from LAC). This is what we get:

Scottie Barnes
Terence Mann / Jordan Nwora
Pascal Siakam
Precious Achiuwa
DeAndre Ayton / Christian Koloko

+ all of our picks including a top 5 ‘23 pick, extra 2nds in ‘23 and ‘24, and an extra ‘28 1st.

If we can get a high end playmaking shooter in the draft, this team will be set.

Time to stop posting crud.
Everybody is losing their freaking minds. Nutbars and wingnuts have infested this forum. We've become a public lavatory without cleaning staff.

Memphis really needs that 6th man off the bench. Although Brooks is UFA.

OG wants out, can't blame him with the ball hogs on this roster.

We made Junior a starter and gave him 3/54. The relationship is very strong there too, though obviously it has only been a 2-year relationship.

It would better to trade him now.

The only reason the Raps were able to do a sign-and-trade was because the Heat wanted to sign PJ Tucker with the MLE. I highly doubt it was because Kyle didn’t want to leave for nothing.

It’ll be the same for Fred. He owes nothing to the Raptors as a UFA.

and it all started with the strong relationship built with Kyle (and his agent) over time. The same would happen with Fred. It has nothing to do with "owing" anything to anyone. Those kind of players are certainly not "mercenaries": They just want to get paid as much they can, rightfully so (no discounts!)!

Would be fools gold to expect that with FVV or anyone on this roster lol.

Lowry was an unique case.

What are they going to offer? I have to imagine they will be offering Cam Johnson and at least a first or two. That means we'll be taking back either Crowder or Saric.

I think New Orleans might be able to give us a better package. The have the Lakers first, Dyson Daniels, Trey Murphy and a salary ballast of Graham to create a package.

IMO, unless we'll be sending Crowder or Saric to another team for additional value, NOLA looks like the better destination.

Suns literally have no one except Bridges. Even cam Johnson is like 26. Thought he was a prospect

I'm not sure what Memphis gives us that makes an OG trade work.

JJJ, Ja and Bane are the only difference makers but they aren't likely available.

Brooks is probably included in a trade but he is up for a new contract and is really inefficient.

Zaire Williams is interesting but he hasn't really shown much potential.

The rest of their prospects like Laravia, Roddy, Aldama are all meh as trade assets.

Would a package of Brooks, Zaire Williams, Jake Laravia and a FRP enough for OG?

I don't think the Grizzlies would put together a compelling offer. Probably banking on including multiple crappy firsts.

Agreed. Cam Johnson and two late firsts doesn't move me much.
