When he's firing on all cylinders though I'm not sure I can say Cam is a downgrade to OG.

for me its team fit why you make the trade, you have 3 pf on a team, none are centers, that means you have to play 3 of them plus a center. that is a very unbalanced team.

Thing is Portland's 2023 pick is owed to CHI and lottery protected. Since it may not convey this year, they can't trade any future picks until it does. Removing that protection so it conveys is risky given their record this year.

I wouldn't say he's mediocre. He's one of the best volume 3PT shooters in the league and a decent defender. Those types of players are valuable because they're portable. He also is limited just enough that no one will throw a bag at him this summer. I would want more, too, but the picks give you upside.

He looked below mediocre last night.

Also, OG had a significant injury and surgery in college and Masai still took a chance on him and it’s paid off.
