People bringing up Cam Johnson injuries is crazy man when since being drafted Johnson has played far more games in the NBA during that same span as OG!! OG has even had torn ACLs while the biggest Johnson injury is just a meniscus tear.

I would argue it means the opposite.

So you just used your best trading asset for Cam Johnson. Is that a championship team?
Theres gotta be picks involved. And no its not a championship team. Are you under the illusion thats what the front office is looking to magically turn the team into this deadline? Come on.

So the team wants to keep Siakam and use their best chance at an upgrade on a guy entering his prime and arguably a bench player. The other assets are picks. Sounds to me like the Raptors are looking to treadmill if they follow that plan. That's something the Knicks would do.

1. NOP (something centered around Murphy and/or Daniels + pick(s))

Not remotely interested in any of MEM or NYK’s mediocre players and even more mediocre draft picks. I like PHX’s picks BUT I just like ensuring we get a better young player in either NOP, POR or OKC trade more who will also be closer in age to Scottie which basically ensures they develop together. But the bottomline for me is to aim to get a young player with high potential first then see what picks you can negotiate. The only way around that would be someone with a couple of lottery picks but obviously I don’t see a bottom feeding team in that situation feeling it necessary to get OG this soon.

tbh I don't think the Pelicans are in a rush, Daniels and murphy fit their timeline.

Portland is real, I'm not sure OKC is in a rush either. Those teams won't overpay

Him wanting a bigger role, us prioritizing getting our “point guard” shots, giving him a bigger role. All for what? So he could let us down in the bubble, Tampa Season, and then last year’s collapse vs Philly? It’s a joke.
Agreed although OG shouldn't have a bigger role. He needs to accept his existing one cuz that's the one that every team in the league would want him to play

I wouldn't expect Donovan Mitchell level of return for OG. Donovan is the better asset here.

Think Jrue Holiday level of trade haul...which was basically Eric Bledsoe's carcass, Steven Adams (who later became Jonas Valanciunas), 2 FRP and 2 pick swaps.

You really can't.... otherwise Phoenix would have pulled the trigger already.

I don't see a deal with New Orleans getting done because the pieces we covet in Daniels and Murphey make 5.5m and 3.2m
respectively. So we would have to be absorbing Graham's ugly 11.5m salary with 2 years left after this season to even make it work.

The Grizzlies have no worthwhile players that are intriguing.

The Blazers are the ones I think we should be having a serious conversation with. They have already previously expressed interest in trading for OG. I would love to somehow finagle a package built around Sharpe, Payton and a FRP. Portland fully commits to being competitive with OG on board in exchange for a rookie that isn't fully ready to commit and Payton who is barely in the rotation with his early injury and the bulk of guard minutes going to Simons & Dame.

The Dunc'd on guys floated around a Harris & Maxey for OG and Trent proposal on their pod. I love Maxey but geez what a horrible trade for us.

devonte graham has 2 years after this but the 2nd year only has like 2.5 mil guarantee. so basically its just a 1 year contract.

I agree! OG has played half the season the last 2 years and missed the whole championship run while tearing his ACL before the draft. Not only will he never be an All-star, he's injury prone

Knowing his value is so much, I'd trade him for sure

You do know OG tore is ACL too right? Who knows what his long term health is easier if that's the route you want to go.

That injury is the only reason he was available late in the draft. It hasn't been a problem since it happened 6 years ago.

Doesn’t look like it’s a problem for Johnson either

Any deal for FVV likely requires some negotiations on his new contract. No one is going to give up assets if they don't think they'll sign him/he'd sign with them next year.

OG is low risk, high reward. He's the best asset on the market by far.

Yeah, I know why OG's easier to move but still would love to get more info on FVV trade. Moreso because I'm not convinced the management doesn't still have their lips firmly attached to FVV's ass. They've shown a bit too much love for him in the past. Way too much.

Cam Johnson is a free agent next year and he will be looking for a deal worth close to what OG's earning right now. He reportedly already turned down 4/72 in the offseason.

He's not young, he's not going to be cheap, and he really only tops out as a solid rotation player.

BIG PASS.

Ahh thanks for pointing that out, I guess it makes it a bit more comforting, but still a pretty underwhelming package imo. I can't see the Pelicans eager to toss many FRPs if any if with these prospects and a guy who fits OG's profile in Herb already.

Honestly i'd rather we just go embrace the tank and go:

The best trade partner for OG isn't PHX .. it's POR cuz that team is going to continue to struggled in a stacked west.

If we could somehow rip them off of unprotected picks, that should be the main target

Dude are you high, that's false... OG played in more games the past 4 seasons then Cam, and that's not even taking into account that OG missed 23 games due to appendicitis and his father passing.
