We shall see.
Shams seems to think otherwise. He slightly connected to Klutch....who reps both OG and Nick Nurse.
Shams has no ties to Phoenix and has mentioned them around every player on the trade market I suppose he is bound to get one right eventually
And Klutch another reason not to make that trade.
Well name the last true Suns story Gambo broke. Its been a long time. Sayning no to every name is not breaking a story. Saying the Suns will draft one of 6-8 players at 10 (when they drafted Smith) is not breaking a story.

I firmly believe we need the latter, as our offense has been pretty bleak without #1. There are dozens of shooters available for relatively cheap, and few shot creators. I’m not getting my hopes up for anything… probably a crowder swap for seconds and maybe an outgoing first for a slight upgrade at backup SG.
Not according to the interview, here is the quote,
What Jones wants is a guy who can get his shot no matter the situation, no matter who’s defending them, no matter how high-leverage the situation is.
Jones even praised inefficient scorers, saying they can get a bad rep but that they’re often inefficient because they’re willing to take the toughest shots. He wants to add someone willing to take tough shots.
After reading that the guy that fits EXACTLY that description is Jordan Clarkson.
We can give up Crowder + FRP to get Clarkson.
Bucks gets Crowder
Jazz gets Allen + Ibaka or Hill + 2nd (from the Bucks) + FRP (from the Suns).

Where was Gambo mentioned?
Maybe I answered the wrong post - sorry. There was one where Gambo was mentioned backing up what Shams said

If you are giving up a FRP - lottery protected - - is Clarkson or Russell?
For me, its Russell.. can play the 1, shoots a bit better. Only drawback, a FA after this year

I just don't think I could/would do it IF the price is Johnson and multiple picks! I wouldn't even have Johnson on the table with how good he's been since returning from injury!
Gambo is mentioned right here......backing up Shams story-not that someone like Shams needs Gambo to back him up. He's on Woj level.
Either way woolf, there you go. Local reporter backs up national rumor.
Slim Charless wrote: That's a good deal GoK, maybe the best I've seen you do lol. Seems even on both sides and I'd absolutely do that...and I think the Dinos should too.
Either way I think a change is needed and OG would be great here. Mikal can't keep being the 1st line of defense. He needs to be on the secondary guy for the other team.
I agree. I like the trade as well - one of his best would agree - good work GOK
But would be nice to move Shamet thats for sure. The Raptors probably buy out Crowder or flip him to another team for a couple second round picks.
Saberestar wrote:Lol, obviously that's a great trade for the Suns, but no way the Raptors do that.
Our picks don't have too much value because we have a very good team and CP3/Book/Mikal/Ayton are signed long-term. If you put a Top 10 protection on them that makes them even more useless to rival teams.
What makes you so sure? Trent is likely to take his player option and obviously seek more than that and they aren't going to want to pay him what he'll likely be seeking because they'll prioritize having money to commit to Siakim's supermax he'll be seeking shortly over commutting significant cap to Trent over that flexibility to resign / retain Siakim. Also moving Trent allows them more money to absorb resigning Van Vleet if they do choose. But if they were looking to keep Van Vleet OR Trent for what they're both looking for, they wouldn't be advertising how available they are for trade!
And the top 10 protection on the picks should be inconsequential IF the suns will truly be as good as you say they'll be, then obviously we wouldn't be picking in the top 10 of the lottery and the picks convey anyways! But you NEVER EVER!!! give out UNPROTECTED FIRSTS. Doing so would be idiotic and absolute negligence. And honestly, when you take all the factors involved, Anunoby is simply not worth that much value alone.
Trent's inclusion makes that higher outgoing value equitable. But there's still implied risk with his player option so that reduces his percieved value for the receiving team due to potential contractual increase risk for the recieving team. This makes the trade completely fair as is! IF Toronto feels differently and expects more value, they can look elsewhere because we don't need to get fleeced just to complete trades.
Hearing Toronto wants to get off of OG Anunoby contract before they have to pay him after next season. Has a long history of significant injuries - has missed a ton of games. Good all-around player. Not great at any one thing but big body with width/strength/wing span.

Cam Johnson has a bit of an injury history too... But will cost more than Cam Johnson
If this is the case - the Raptors would need to take Shamet. Heck - knowing how smart Ujiri is, they might want Shamet over Saric as he is an expiring next year for 10.5m - thats pretty easy to manage. Saric is a true expiring but they are so over the cap.
If you do this - can you somehow get a scorer still - would the Bucks 2 second rounders be enough to get Eric Gordon

YET WE ARE THE ONES SUPPOSED TO GIVE UP FIRST ROUND PICKS? This trade would be idiotic.
I wonder if they're waiting till Ishbia officially takes over to do this. In other words maybe this is a done deal. Sarver can still technically veto it....for a few more days maybe. Wish we knew the exact day Ishbia takes over.

Nothing is happening till Ishbia takes over and we will know as soon as it becomes official, latest date is Feb 8th as that's when the press conference is scheduled

Perhaps, But the difference between us and the raptors in this premise is in that we have a brand new billionaire owner taking ownership in the coming week, And he's willing to spend. Also we already have our supermax player locked up. And with Johnson being a restricted free agent, spending and cost isn't as big of an issue for us! But with the raptors, the situation is reversed as they're prioritizing cost cutting in order to free up cap flexibility to resign Siakim to his supermax he'll be seeking shortly and maybe just maybe try and bring back Van Vleet too. So they'll be looking to cut cost not add or pay more! This moves the leverage here slightly in our favor. Even with them taking Johnson, He'll likely cost less in what he's seeking than Anunoby in what he'll be seeking.
If we are giving up Cam Johnson - Jones will need to find some bench scoring -
That's where moving Jae comes into play. I'd like to get some seconds too as I think Ishbia won't be so dismissive of the draft and will actually pay to hire some good scouts.
So hopefully we can get those 3 seconds that MIL was offering and a bench guy or 2 for Jae. Seems like that deal is done is some form. Teams don't usually let other teams meet with their players in the middle of a season.
