2 similar guys with similar games. Who would you prefer to have today and going forward? Ignore contract value for this exercise

Mikal is significantly better offensively--so much so I side with him regardless of the defensive difference.

Mikal has better offensive value, while being more of a 2/3 wing stopper.

OG is bulkier, and can play all the way up to the 4, which gives him some extra versatility, but I prefer Mikal's cutting and 3pt superiority, along with his improved self creation game if it maintains.

OG is better on defense but Mikal is better on offense. The difference between them on offense is larger than the difference between them on defense. I am going with Mikal as the better player. If my team had two small guards in the backcourt though, I could prefer Anunoby on that team.

Is OG better overall defender? Mikal was very close to winning DPOY last year, OG didn’t make an all defensive team.

I mean in reality Mikal shouldn't of really come that close to DPOY in my opinion (and smart shouldn't of won either) but alas the voters did agree with you.

I think OG has less vulnerable matchups, since his added bulk gives him a wider range of matchups, although tbf I don't know enough about his screen nav capabilities where Mikal is very strong since he can make himself skinny and use his length to contest shots from the rear.

I agree with the Poster above you that OG is probably a safer bet on a team like Boston or Memphis where that versatility to play the 4 would come in handly a lot more, and in memphis it provides a safety net for the Ja/Bane backcourt.

I think a team like cleveland though who has a small backcourt too, would prefer Mikal for his superior offensive game where they require more reliable spacing and I think his top tier cutting combines well with Garland right now and provides more of an ability to playoff the big to big passing.
