Worst case scenario he is a strong defensive guard with some penetration ability. Best case he eventually becomes Derek White. If the picks are decent (even if they are somewhat protected) that's a yes.

Frankly, I'd rather their starting point guard (Fultz), but that ship has probably passed.

I think eventually Suggs will be closer to being Kris Dunn not Jrue. Probably somewhere in between

Very fun and loveable guy but I don’t know about this one lol.

I think its his elite Shot that makes him a good prospect at the PG spot....He can shoot from anywhere on the court which is viable in todays PG....His passing is decent as well when he gets the chance to run the PG spot...

Obviously he will not be a superstar but he has good upside to be a 20+ Scorer and a 5-7 Assist + One of the better 3pt shooting guards if giving the chance....He has alot of offensive skills....Defense is his problem and his weight...Worth the flyer if it doesn't cost much though

Bones Hyland's problem isn't the offence...it's the defence. I haven't really seen him play in Denver...but listening to some of the podcasters talking about Bones...they are talking about how he'd get played off the floor in the playoffs because he'd be targeted constantly. In short...Hyland might not be a Nick Nurse kind of player.

Yep he needs to add weight....Thats his problem bigger guards take him into the post often....But what we are lacking is offense....We have no shot makers and in the future Bones looks like he could be one of the better shot makers in the league if giving the chance....He is a very talented offensive player...

;ab_channel=ZHHighlights

He could be a lowkey good grab on the cheap now cause in the future could be a solid player at just 22 years old and already polished on offense theres lots of room to grow....Also if you build a strong enough defensive team around him you could take the hit on the defensive end....

Personally love his offensive upside and upside as a whole...

Word is that the Nuggets want a first round pick for him. I ain't giving up a first round pick for him...not one of ours especially since we don't know what direction we are going in.

Lol as someone that's watched a lot of Bones Hyland the past 2 years. It's objectively hilarious people stylistically want to move away from Fred. But then seeing love for Bones who shots around 40%, is an atrocious defender, and also doesn't pass. Now I'm not saying Bones won't get better or cause he will. But he's the type of player that also needs the ball and would be taking touches away from Scottie as well lmao.

And yes...Bones is a gunner. Guess who else is a gunner? Gary Trent Jr...but 80% of this board wants him out because all he does is gun.

I love Gary Trent Jr. BECAUSE he is a gunner...on a team that is a horrible shooting team...he is our best shooter.

If people hate Gary Trent Jr....the knives will be out for Bones Hyland if he ever becomes a Raptor.

he's a good piece off the bench...bad defense so might be unplayable in the playoffs...wonder what the nuggets are looking for.

He's like Tyrese Maxey that hasn't blown up yet, right?

Denver is looking for a defensive player with more size. I'm guessing a forward. Thaddeus Young and 2023 2nd pick enough?

Bones does not have a big role on that deep Nuggets team and hes putting up good numbers not always having the ball in his hands....So he does not need the ball all the time to put up numbers....Infact he only plays like 20 mins a game atm and is still showing flashes of being an elite offensive player...

Ofc he has alot to work on but it seems many people are allergic to offensive stars around here....People said the same thing about Donovan Mitchell in the offseason...."Oh hes a good offensive player but won't lead the team anywhere cause his defense is horrible" But now look at Donovan Mitchell prolly one of the best guards in basketball and the Cavs future looks crazy good....

Defense is important ofc but offense is arguably more important in todays NBA especially 3pt shooting....

FVV is a good player but hes on the wrong side of age and hes been injury prone....Bones is 22 years old and can grow with Barnes...Already has a more polished offensive game than some players at 27-28 in the NBA....He clearly needs to add weight though but in time that can be fixed....

Personally would not mind getting an offensive firepower like Bones here if you can avoid a steep price....What they are looking for is a big depth defender so its tough to say we could even give them that but i bet whoever gets Bones will be happy about it in the future...

Nah they looking for a big wing defender for Depth ....They are not in the draft pick business atm maybe a 2nd rounder but they are looking for players to help them win now since they are trying to win a championship this year....It all depends ...I dont think we have anything Nuggets want anyways but just think Bones is a perfect player for us since i really see Bones being one of the better offensive guards....His 3pt shot is already pretty elite....And he has great handles/flashy passing/good rim finisher with crafty layups....Defense is a thing he must get better at though no doubt..

Wonder if we could trade GTJ for Bones Hyland - both microwave scorers but Bones is like a skinnier Maxey.

Return to Toronto Raptors
