One thing for certain - one of these guys took this serious and wanted to prove a point and the other one thought - it’s Saturday “who we playing”?:..
Hint on who took it personally - the guy that avg 21 fga went out there are put up 31 SHOTS
The other guy puts up 15 FGA a game and put up 12… and made 8 of those..: you know - “I’m not trying to force it and prove a point cause I got 2 MOSTvaluable player awards by playing my way… I’m not gonna change today -
It’s a good game but doesn’t change much for me…. I don’t expect Jokic to attempt to go get numbers against his rivals because honestly he doesn’t really see Embiid as a rival- his only real rival is probably Giannis because he has two MVPs too and a chip. And maybe the other guys like KD, Curry and the ones that have MVPs and rings… but Embiid is an upstart and is trying to pull himself into the convoy.
Honestly tho… I love that Embiid took this personally and I love that Jokic didn’t… it suits them both.
Embiid like “SEE I am as good as him”
Jokic is like - “yeah Embiid is pretty good… I wish we won tonight - we have a lot to work on if we want a ring”
Perfect
Really, Is this where we are going? So anytime Jokic underperforms now its because "he didn't feel like it"? Its a childish pathetic excuse, and although I'm not a big Jokic fan, I assume he's a better competitor than that. No elite player doesn't care if they get dominated on national television in front of millions of viewers, especially another elite player who plays the same position. Better to say he had a bad game and move on.
