I just got new info from my cousin in law's sister's husband's friend who told me progress has been significantly made but still working on more details.

Phoenix: OG, Thad Young, 2nd rounder from Mil
Toronto: Cam Johnson, 2 first round picks
Milwaukee: Jae Crowder

Multiple good picks have to be the centerpiece of any deal for OG imo. I don't have much interest in some of the names being discussed as potential return (e.g. Cam Johnson). I'd prefer salary filler and picks that give our - very good - scouting department more kicks at the can in finding star talent in the draft.

This is the way to think about picks. My preference is a young prospect plus picks. I like the idea of having a player to work with and not just all unknowns in the future.

Why is Johnson willing to settle for $20m?

-cap going up in 2 years
-looks around and sees guys like Hield, Fournier and Duncan Robinson (and others) making $19m and he’s only going to ask for $20m?

We trade OG to PHX and we’re also looking at getting picks in the 20’s as they now have: Booker, Bridges, OG and Ayton (all 26 or younger) so they’ll probably be pretty good going forward. Don’t we want at least 1 asset with high upside coming back?

The only report I can find is one Suns radio guy saying he heard Cam wanted something in the 4/85 range prior to the season. Cam is having his best season so far so why has he lowered his asking price?

If a guy asks for 4/85 (speculated by one person) and then improves his play, why is that player now willing to accept 4/80? And why would his leverage decline when he can now negotiate with multiple teams this off season instead of just one (PHX)?

Again, that same article says that it's risky that he's even asking that much, and 4/85 is 21m/season, not 25m/per like you said. Come on now.

Lmaoo who is saying they want to trade him, you're joking right? Everyone or most people want Fred gone and OG to stay. The only comments I've seen are with respect to OG wanting out. If he wants out I think people are right to want to maximize his returns even though they probably want him here.

The big reason why I'm for Cam+multiple 1sts is that it allows is to keep the Scottie/Siakam tandem as we add more 3pt shooting, doubly so if we move Fred for a package luke Kennard/Mann+1st. At that point you are free to keep GTJ or swap him for Poeltl in that NYK-included 3-teamer.

Mathurin for OG makes sense imo I think its the perfect rebuild move. Him and scottie are a nice fit. Plus the top 6 pick. Lots of flexibility going forward.

Still have Pascal, FVV and GTJ on top of that and paying both in the off-season is more realistic w Mathurin being on a rookie deal. Or you trade one, sign one and plan to free up cap space while potentially have 3 young studs (barnes, Mathurin and Top 6 pick) on your team.
