You still dead certain on this?
Yes, Green's just not on the same level as Bane. Seems rather obvious.

Have to agree with HMML, Bane and Maxey are tiers above Green. Dallas messed that one up

Its not a messup if those 2 outperforms their draftstatus. In that case its much bigger messups to have giannis, jokic and so on fall. Bane were late 1st early 2nd projection, if memphis hadnt traded up mavs most likely would have taken him with the next pick. Maxey projection were mid 2nd. There were never even discussions that either of them were gonna go at 20. Bey on the other hand..but looks more and more like mavs actually chose right, but at the time i really hated that they passed on him for green

I'm not sure where you are getting these details form, but several mock I saw back then had both maxey and Bane ahead of Green. Here were some:

We'll never know what happened behind the scenes on draft night. Green was drafted by a GM, meant to be played by a coach and was favored by an analytics guy. All three however are not employed by Dallas right now. The previous regime had their reasons for drafting Green. The current regime just has to hope he amounts to something useful. Dallas had a major front office and coaching revamp. And that happened while building a team for Luka. Blame will go around for sure, but not much we can do now that Donnie, Carlisle and Vegas Bob are all fired or moved on to other jobs.

Luckily Green is 2 years younger and already a better defender plus he already became a great 3pt shooter. He's also playing only 22 mpg. I think Green has a lot of room for improvement.

Good 3pts shooter for open corner 3. Difficult to say someone is great in something, if he averages only 1 3 pointer per game.

It's still a serious improvement from where he was 1 or 2 years ago when he was completely useless. And if he keeps improving like he did this year, we won't need to feel that bad for not drafting Bane.

Would be wonderful if thats the case Arch, cause seeing how good Memphis is, thanks is large part to Bane, really stings

It's a big improvement, but far from being great shooter. For that he will need triple his volume and shooting something different then only wide open corner 3s.

Bane wasn't going in the second round. I took the Vegas odds that highly favored him being a first round pick. 30th pick or not, it was known he was one of the best shooters in the draft class, and he was expected to be selected in the first.

Funny how only the crickets come out after Josh has a career game.
What happened to all of the haters?

I have praised Josh in the game threads. Let's see if he's going to be consistent.

I'm slow roasting a crow, and it's going to be delicious, Green looks like top 10 player from this draft.
Only these guys are clearly better
Edwards, Ball, Haliburton, Bane, Maxey, McDaniels, Okongwu
Defense wins draft lotteries!

I would rather have Green over McDaniels, Okongwu and even Ball.

Green does sooooo much on the floor, feels like he's literally flying up and down all the time just guarding everyone. He's like a bunny on steroids lol.

He's got that JJ Barea motor.

Not surprising though. He led Arizona with steals per during his time there. 6'6 with a 6'10 wingspan. There's some use for that here.

I've been trying to tell you guys Josh is going to be a stud, it's nice to see everybody onboard now :D :D

He's a match made in heaven for Kidd's defensive system. Next up Hardy! :D
