This is such a silly counter point. Why did 21 other teams pass on him? Because there were better players available, players with more potential, players that fit the team better, poor drafting/incompetence, and etc.

Exactly, that's the entire point. It happens EVERY draft and if we held onto the draft pick, very well could have happened to us. Maybe we draft Koloko at 20 and then everyone hear would bemoan us drafting Koloko over Kessler.

Kessler is having a better season than how many people drafted before him?

People hit late in the draft, most players don't. To go back and say 'well we should have drafted him' is having a hindsight 20/20 crystal ball and is a horrible argument.

Yup. Think about the OG pick. No other fan base is grinding they didnt pick him back in the day, nor did they go on and on about it. If you miss out on a guy you target them for later and move on. So much crying over spilled milk, to no avail.

Missing a C late first/second is so normal it literally happens every few years, and not just scrubs. Future All stars, DPOYs and MVPS missed by everyone: Fan, Media and Front Offices. It happens. Gasol, Dre, Jokic all leap to mind. It is a part of basketball and the draft. You tip your cap to the team lucky enough to have the guy drop into their lap and move on.

This is major news. I'd expect to see a major bidding war for him at the deadline. IMO, I can't see how the Pelicans lose. Memphis doesn't really have much to offer in comparison and Portland doesn't want to pony up.

If yesterday's IG post of a pic of him with Devin Booker is indicative of anything...I think a trade with Phoenix is possible. Would you do Fred and Thad for Ayton?

I hope so, cause just dealing out OG and keeping everyone else seems underwhelming if we are committed to a rebuild. Otherwise we are still treading in mediocrity still.

I don't see a reason to keep Pascal if you are shipping out Fred and OG. The only question is when do you trade Pascal? Now or in the summer?

If you manage to get a haul of young talent coming back and a decent lottery pick...this could be a real turnaround within a year or so. We'd be looking a the play-in as early as next season if we restock with the right pieces.

I'm reading into that IG post from yesterday as a message to Phoenix management that Fred wants to be in Phoenix and would want to resign long term as well...so be willing to give up the players and picks needed to make it happen.

Glad FVV is being a pro and playing better than he has all season. Ya, it's to showcase himself but those are the type of guys you wanna get rid of and selfishly it'll help his value so win win.

Fred and Pascal are better than OG, is one reason. But, I think trading two of OG/Fred/Trent is the best play here. You trade high on a malcontent and get what you can for a UFA who is about to get a raise. Pascal is golden. Hard to get equivalent talent back in trades of players of that stature.

My thoughts exactly. What does that accomplish if you just trade OG and call it a day? We would still be in the same position as we are today. We are not making the playoffs mind you contending, and with peak Pascal and FVV, we were a folder against Philly last year.

If OG gets traded, it would make sense Fred would be next. Siakam - no idea but I guess they'd get a major haul for him in the off-season

Why wouldn't you keep your All-NBA player? Trading OG makes sense because his value is at an all time high and will never likely be higher. Being able to turn him into 3+ assets really jump starts a rebuild. In a perfect world you keep OG. But in a NBA where you need to manage assets and juggle salaries it makes absolute sense to move OG over Pascal.

Where has a peak Pascal and FVV lead us these past few years?
