was that legit? lol

Bro they posted the clip in this thread, I’m not gonna claim I’m some expert lip reader, but that’s what I deciphered.

What a take
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

The clip was the single tweet from a random person who typed out what you then decided you saw. There's no way to actually read his lips from the side and know anything at all about what he said. And it was from a game on Jan 2nd or something.

The game date is irrelevant when the reports of him wanting out started in the off-season.

But yes, I acknowledge that my interpretation could be biased from the person typing it out.

If he actually said that then why hasn't there been any news about it? If that's what he said then this would've blown up and gotten a ton of media attention.

OG has been around this league long enough to know that there are cameras everywhere. I don't think he's dumb enough to say something like that. LOL.

4) He's one of the few players in the league who can legitimately defend 1-5 and he's one of the best at guarding elite wings, which is kind of important for contenders.
5) He's a career 37% 3pt shooter on good volume
6) He's a plug and play player who would start for every team in the league

Only real knock on him is his ability to pick up the strangest injuries.

This is the main issue. Played 43 and 48 games the last 2 seasons.

Not Fred!
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Lol this OG, he’s not some superstar. Most people in the media don’t even bother to learn how to pronounce his last name correctly lmao. This kind of stuff blows up when it’s a top 10 player doing it. If it’s Durant, Bron, Steph, Giannis etc then yeah they make a big deal out of it. He’s the 4th option on a sub .500 team, nobody cares that he might have done this except us.

Yes, it's OG, the player being talked about as the biggest trade option for multiple teams with lots of US media attention over the past couple weeks. It's so strange that one person online "deciphered" that post game exchange a month after it happened but it hasn't been picked up anywhere else when OG's name has been all over the place as a trade target.

Love what's happening, but don't want to get my hopes up. This Raptors management has always been notorious for a lot of smoke but nothing ends up happening.

I think no doubt the NO package is more enticing than Memphis. The way I see it is the young players on NO have shown more upside and fit the type of basketball we are looking to play. The guys are Memphis are young and have had a chance to prove themselves on many occasions but have not stepped up. So trading with Memphis could blow up hard if guys like Zaire don't pan out. Versus Daniels and Murphy are both excellent fits. Ideally if OG can net Daniels, Murphy, Graham and a first that is a legit haul. If that were to happen I would not hesitate to flip Fred or Trent as well. Cause you have your future PG, SG in those two and actually add back some PG depth with Graham. Graham is a bit undersized, but not completely useless. However, if we can resign Fred to a reasonable contract I'm also down for a starting 5 of Fred, Daniels, Barnes, Pascal and Precious and with Murphy as our 6th man.

Two deals that will make our deadline:

OG and Birch for Graham, Daniels, Murphy, Hayes and future 1st.

Trent and Boucher for Reddish, Fournier, Hartenstein and a future first and future 2nd.

Flip Reddish to another team for 1 or 2 2nd round picks.

NEw line-up

Fred - Graham - Banton
Daniels - Murphy - Fournier
Barnes - Young - Harper
Siakam - Hartenstein
Precious - Hayes - Koloko

Daniels is a great defender and between him and Fred they can interchange running the point. They could also let Scottie or Pascal take over ball duties. Should we lose Fred in the summer, Daniels moves to the 1 spot and Murphy starts and we get Fournier to be our off the bench scorer, which he is still more than capable of. Fournier and Graham

Graham, Murphy, Fournier add back a ton of quality 3PT shooting for us. Fournier's contract sucks, but we are capped out so we rebalance some depth. Murphy can also play the 3 and some small ball 4 when needed.

Hartenstein gives us a reliable rebounder and defender who can step in when needed to occasional start.

I actually think this team ends up being better than our current team cause of the chemistry and balance. If we really think C is still an issue we could always see through with a Jakob deal to further shore up the 5 spot.

This would be a retool and not a rebuild.

If a deal goes down, I'm betting it's to NO's for Dyson and picks. The Raps were linked to Dyson at the draft and NO's has some enticing picks. This deal would give them a good young player who could step in right away, plus future picks down the line.

My preference is still to keep OG though.

OG would be a starter on every single team in the league. Make no mistake, every single GM knows how valuable he is.
Masai and Bobby are in the drivers seat to cash in big on him "if" he wants out.

Daniels and one of Herb/Murphy plus picks is my asking price if I'm Masai. Pelicans don't want Grizzlies, Suns, or anyone in the west to get him, and they have the most to spend if they really intend to do so. That losing streak really helps as well, it's like a perfect storm for us.

If the Pelicans are interested it really bodes well for the Raptors.

Dyson Daniels would be the ideal prospect to get. Raptors interviewed him pre draft despite not having a 1st round pick so I’m sure they interested in him.

Pels with OG makes their starting 5 pretty nasty.

CJ
Ingram
OG
Zion
JV

Offensively they are pretty killer already, but add in OG and his defense.

With this being said don't see how OG gets a bigger offensive role in NO compared to TO. CJ, Ingram and Zion take like 60-65% of the shots per game already.

Was his name all over the place when this happened? Think what you want it doesn’t matter to me. The reality is that he wants out and to act like it’s the peak of ridiculousness to think that he said this to Hali is, in my opinion, a defense mechanism.

Lol ok guys keep thinking he didn’t express himself to Hali post game a month ago, when he’s been wanting out for like the last 6 months. We’re not trading him because he wants out, it’s because it’s for the good of the franchise ( green font).
