This is probably something and just scares me to death. Masai and Bobby think this is a good PR move. Replace a Raptor favorite with a local kid and call it even. We need picks more than no defense Barrett. I like Barrett too but you have to hide him on defense.

As if Masai will make a move for positive PR. He's way above that in terms of clout and stability.

I would not discount it - Masai's rep is somewhat tarnished after 2 out of 3 lottery type seasons. Plus, if you are trading away two or three core players who are popular, you need to have something to show the fanbase. I have been behind bringing in a top Canadian like SGA or Murray, and I think we have heard this FO talk about the importance of Canadian players before - they loved drafting Dalano Banton, and made Chris Boucher and Khem Birch free agent signings.

Thanks for this. Gonna queue it up in the car when I get off the GO

This is what I'm saying. Paul is known for his leadership. The only other player in the whole association that can match that leadership is Fred Van Vleet. With Paul on his last legs and close to retirement, the Suns should do everything in their power to trade for Fred and the masterclass leadership he will provide to their organization.

Love this if it's true that there's 6 or 7 teams ready to put in an offer. Sounds like the Toronto housing market, but wait a minute. I thought Shams report was that the Raptors were now taking calls for OG, so I'm confused by Windhorst's suggestion that there's several teams ready to make the phone call when and if they get the nod.

We need to get something done with NOP for OG (period).

There's just clearly a better, more balanced package that can be sorted out of young players & picks that no other team can offer imo.

Perfect fit for both sides.

I dont see any other team that's a better suitor for us. They have the most attractive assets. OG perfect guy for Zion (both on the court and when he's injured)

One of my biggest darkhorses in the race. They aren't mentioned too often, but Vegas lists them as a potential landing spot. I also think a Keegan Murray + Davion Mitchell offer puts them right there with the top offers

I think it's fine to criticize the front office for some of the moves they've made, but I have zero fear they will do something like this with a piece like OG. The return on OG is integral to potentially both the long- and short-term future of the team, it won't be wasted on a PR move.

Missing Memphis on this list. Based on rumours floating around, it seems like the Suns, Grizz, Pels and Knicks are the most interested. Pure speculation though.

Yeah this is the package I believe is most reasonable for OG.

I've said it in this thread before but its either:

1. Daniels, Graham and the LAL pick for OG
2. Daniels, Murphy and Graham for OG and Flynn
3. Daniels, Murphy, Hayes, Graham for OG, Flynn, Young and Banton
Agreed. I think if the Lakers go on win streak next few days we might just force the trade to go through. We get the better pick of the 2. Both teams are fairly close and with the Lakers surging and pels probably getting better with og pels might think both picks will be in the teens.

All it takes is a few more injuries to zion/ingram or lebron/ad for that pick to be a top 10.

Good chance it might happen or it might not. Worse case we end up with a 20th pick and best case a top 10 pick with an outside chance of getting into the top 4 if the lottery balls are on our side.

So basically the same as a second rounder, in fact the second may be a bit better - according to some around here.

Interesting tidbits I picked up from the Lowe Post Pod: Ayton has a one year no-trade clause that allows Ayton to block any trade there after (cannot be traded to Indiana for one year). So the team most interested in Ayton (Pacers) is out of the running, and Toronto would have to have his blessing to be moved there.

Second note: if Siakam makes all-NBA this season he will be super max eligible. I totally forgot about this, and you can see Siakam is pretty close to that level. Toronto may have to make a decision about whether they are ready to go down that superstar payment path which could end up like the Wiz and Beal who got his super max.

From another article:

Toronto was close to acquiring Deandre Ayton from Phoenix in a sign and trade last summer, according to a source. Perhaps there’s a deal to be made with the Suns, who are said to be one of Anunoby’s many suitors. Pacers centre Myles Turner – who just signed an extension but is still eligible to be traded – would also check off a few boxes as a shot-blocking, floor-spacing big man.

DA is a big splashy acquisition and my hold-up is on paying him a max deal and whether he fits the modern NBA that well. Toronto probably has to think this out who do we want to max out - Siakam? Fred? or do they just pay a young guy like Ayton?

I don't think you pay any of these guys. Move them now and stay clear of Ayton. Right now if we're moving Siakam and Fred, we need to be looking a picks and young guys with potential. We don't need a guy like Ayton.

If they don't end up sellers, my dark horses would be the Chicago Bulls. They have rolled with Patrick Williams who is still only 21, and he is just an decent defender and somewhat improved shooter however they are in a bad place with their roster which needs a two-way starter like OG. OG and Demar go back so there is some chemistry and familiarity.

Patrick Williams is an OG-lite, also a former Florida State guy like Scottie, so that is a nice connection and they have a similar age range and would be a terror on defense.

OG for Patrick Williams, Coby White plus their FRPs 2024, 2026 seems like good return, but the Bulls may end up selling this deadline.
