I hope he's not going to be a one-way player. Watching him sprint in transition offense but jog in transition defense is something he needs to keep an eye on. There isn't the same attention to detail on D, which was my reservation in the draft process and the reason i had him behind Chet.

There are positive moments when he really hustles to block or closeout, but There are pretty lackadaisical plays too.

I worry about it, and will see how he develops 2-3 years from now. It is very common for a rookie to focus on their strengths early on.

He actually has been better than advertised on defense.

He gave a really good reason of why he should be rookie of the year, I like the fact that he made it about the team instead of about himself. He has a good media presence.

Here is the article, the most interesting thing is this:
"This is Banchero’s third Kia Rookie of the Month award." Slip of the tongue? It should have been his 3rd but nope this is his second.

I am really surprised that Kessler didn't get the ROTM. I thought he played super well. But I don't mind Keegan getting it either. :)

Unfortunately Paolo didn't make the All Star team. No biggie, just being in the conversation was an honor. If he keeps working, I think this kid can get in one eventually. Anyway, I was reading this article and I went down a rabbit hole, enjoy the videos.

I don't have twitter so I hope I'm inputing this correctly.

Also, yes, I stalk the team. I really like getting to the the guys and seeing their chemistry. It's a shame I hardly hear anything about Franz and Caleb.

To me, Paolo looks like a 260-pound Kevin Durant.

He has a lot of room for growth.

Can you imagine the rioting we would be doing had we not drafted Paolo vs Chet and Jabari?

Also how could scouts not see this level of performance in a player?

I really wish Orlando was just silent about working out Jabari so that this situation didn’t happen. I honestly feel like it was the media, knowing our love for length and defense, tried to will Jabari on us. But truthfully, if Jabari was in a Magic uniform, I would be cheering just as hard and be very patient with him while also be absolutely gutted watching Paolo.
But I don’t doubt that the meltdown on this forum would be unbearable their rookie season.
