If we're looking for international players not currently playing in the NBA, but with the required size, athleticism, etc, how about this Ben Simmons fella I've heard about?

I think his contract is the issue. You can’t justify paying a max money for a backup to Blake Griffin.

Heh...made me chuckle. I can imagine Brad acquiring him, and talking about him getting a shot to compete for a roster spot.

We've talked about Dzanan Musa a little bit on here. But this offseason I really think we should make a run at signing him.

Best player in Europe IMO (not counting guys who haven't been drafted yet like Victor).

6'9" and can legit play the 1, 2 or the 3. We would likely try to keep his role more simple and just have him be a backup wing. But he does have the ability to handle the ball like a guard, run PnR and act as a secondary creator out there.

Good off ball player as a shooter and as a cutter. Shooting 45% from 3 this season, which is unheard of in Europe, where you usually don't see many guys over 40% because of the spacing - they don't have the type of spacing that they do in the NBA so the guys shooting it are more closely guarded.

He just had a game today where he took over in OT, dropping 10 points - in the OT period alone. Here's some clips:

Here's some footage from a different game he had recently:

I'm hearing some rumors that it's likely that an NBA team will buy him out of his contract with Real Madrid and bring him back to the NBA for next season. I hope it's the Celtics. This guy is too good for Europe.

I think Semi's shooting .465 from the three in Europe.

Interesting. We certainly have been known to make deals with the Thunder.

But we don't really have playing time for him - unless brogdon, smart or white is traded.

Micic is a similar player to Brogdon..so chances are, if he gets traded, it'd be to a different team than Boston.

This article from last summer says Bucks, Nuggets, Bulls and Spurs were interested in trading for him: https://milehighsports.com/report-nuggets-interested-in-serbian-point-guard-vasilije-micic/

I say invite him to join our summer league team with a chance to come to training camp.

This dude can ball. Jordan Usher. What a name too, a combination of Michael Jordan and...Usher.

Still just 24 years old, still getting better.

Currently playing for a team in Turkey's top league, which is very good competition.

He's a 6'7" wing. Averaged 16 PPG this year. 40% from 3.

Begarin and Champagnie will probably not be ready yet to contribute on a contender next season. You bring Usher in - him and Hauser for wings off the bench - you're good to go.

Return to Boston Celtics
