A few days ago when OG sat out, I think. Possibly earlier.

New Orleans can outbid everybody fwiw.. Stack salaries (Jaxson Hayes, Devonte Graham, Garrett Tample, Willy H.) and throw in Dyson Daniels and a pick.. major overpay for an expiring guy but they might be ready to go in.

This will drag out for a long time, however what I don't understand is why:

- The lakers would want Irving- they could easily get decent players who will fit the bill and play alongside LBJ. I do not think Kyrie is in the same mindset as he was when they played(him and LJB) in CLE... Dude is off the rails.

- He absolutely doesn't fit with Doncic. If I were the Mavs I would ask for John Collins. Doncic is crazy ball-dominant and so is Irving. They have Dinwiddie. They could ship him back to BKN, but the picks/players woouldn't be worth it and I'm sorry, but I just don't think that current day Doncic affects the game the same as a fully healthy Durant. Nets would have a shot at the title, cause Durant is an-all time player, still plays at the highest level when healthy.

I would look into a bunch of role players to acquire at a low cost on the C's(1 or 2 bench guys) as it seems that many of them might be flying under the radar with a few big/semi big names on the market.
Good assessment:

Even if Kyrie wasn't a total lunatic fruitcake he's entering the age and period of his career where he's going to be hurt a lot.

Teams signing him can't expect the same iron man kind of availability.

Not for Kyrie. The assets are for Durant or someone of that ilk.

Not the biggest Barton fan because I felt like he always thought he is better than what he is (just like Josh Rich) but 1000% on board with this. His skillset fits this team. He can shoot the 3 and drive to the paint. He's lights out from corner 3s (last 4 years: 48%, 44%, 49%, 49%) and we're great at generating open looks from the corner. He can drive and move the ball some without turning it over (2.5 assists to 1 TO this season, 1.91 Ast/To ratio career). He has size and although he's been shooting terrible from inside the arc this year, I think he might do better playing on a team that has a goal. His workload has also gone down considerably this year so he should be fresh for a 3-4 month run.

Barton’s better than Justin Jackson and some nights Hauser, too. All that matters.

I've a hunch that this is Kyrie doing part damage control and part just damage. His contract negotiations weren't going well so he figured the Nets had already decided to trade him. By claiming he requested a trade, he made it seem like this was his decision, plus he lowered his trade value (making it easier for teams to trade for him).

Again, just speculation on my end.

Marc Spears on NBA Today,

"I've been speaking to six different general managers today, and four of them said that Kyrie had little value, that they thought that maybe they could get some expiring contracts or some role players for him. Of the teams that they mention that could have interest, there was Dallas, Lakers, Miami and even the Chicago Bulls."

Actually wouldn’t be surprised if Durant is moved to the Suns/Raptors and Irving moved to the Lakers/Suns before Thursday and the Nets just wash their hands of the whole Durant/Irving/Harden era.

Brooklyn could get OG or Bridges, young players, draft picks etc. and start over

I Wonder why nobody questions the topic of Kyrie's mental health. For real, i don't mean in it as an attack. It is clear he's got issues.

I don't know man, I'm flipping through the DSM 5 but can't find the section on Requesting Trades anywhere.

Kyrie Irving deserves everything happening to him including the "stipulations" in his contract. He's a loser.
