It’s unfortunate, we wanted him to succeed here, but he just doesn’t fit our team. His defense is just horrid, I expected a lot more on that end alone. Best of luck to him going forward.

I hate to say it because I hate seeing a guy lose confidence but yeah it's time.

I'm more tired of seeing guys playing in Summer League pickup games, get a few dunks or score alot of points and think they're back.

It's usually false hope especially for a guard. A big guy can get away with it you cause of height and all lol but a guard, they'll get exposed by these fast ass young dudes that got nothing to lose and try to make a name off of you to get PT.

Bobbymcgee wrote:The Clippers needed (and still need) a veteran point guard to make smart decisions in crunch time, play decent defense and be a good spot up three point shooter. Wall has not provided any of that. It just isn't his game. He is really more of an empty-suit type player than anything else. He should try the Asian market next like Marbury and D. Howard.

Nahh but John Wall in China would go crazyyy  I would watch those highlights. He'd be revitalized there too they would go out of their minds to have John Wall there lol

Just watching his interview on the the Theo Pinson podcast the other day, he’s pretty real dude, for good and bad. He still seems kinda fresh and not like a multi multi millionaire, but he also has this chip on his shoulder like he still has to fight everyone and prove himself everyday. Like he’s always been doubted and disrespected (despite all that $$$), left the impression he’d be alright to hang out with but not great to play ball with.

Of the 3 hyper-explosive one and dones of WB,Rose and Wall, WB is the last one left standing and he was fortunate to stay healthy cause I imagine the same would have happened to him too. When all your talent is based on your insane athleticism it could be troublesome if you dont develop more of your fundamentals and skills.

Great. He will be the new Carmelo we have to hear about every week about "How does [insert 20 year old 2nd rounder] have a spot in the league but Wall does not???"
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

People always look at the name on the jersey, and not the actual play.

Man, how John's career fell off a cliff.

He has a career EFG of 46% and TS of 51% (both lower than Westbrooks), and hasn't played over 41 games since 2016-17 (7 seasons ago)

Pre-injury he was a pretty good passer and defender, but never efficient enough to warrant the role on offense he took. Poor mans WB, speedy Rubio.

Some "quality" takes in that thread. Yikes.

''This story makes no sense.''
''If the Lakers can pull this off without the pick, might as well. Any Westbrook trade they can make in the offseason they can make with Wall in his place.''
''Same. The risk seems pretty minimal at this point too.''
''Wall literately can suit up tomorrow night from his couch and still be better than Westbrook. Cause at this point anyone is better than Westbrook. Just get WestBRICK off my team for the love of God''

To be fair Westbrook was that terrible last year. He was a net negative, we would have been better off sitting him than playing him.

He embraced a bench role this year and has had a positive impact, something he flat out refused to do last years

I don’t think John Wall was ever close to as popular as players like Carmelo, Rose, Westbrook, etc. It’s the player fanatics that keep these guys names cycling.

Pretty crazy how quickly things can turn. He talked all this game about how he’s back, but he’s been God awful this year.

He was actually good in the beginning but I told everyone that it was over when Lue went with Jackson. Walls game is not meant to be a backup. He has to start and get consistent minutes. If you aren't going to do that then don't sign him. He's a flawed player with great upside if used correctly
