After our hot shooting start til end of November, Celtics are just 19th on offense, 19th in TS%, and 2nd on defense. We still suffer offensive droughts whenever Tatum sits. Getting a top 5 offensive player of all-time can help with that I think.

But that might be more of an offseason type of deal (unless some bolder and more desperate team jumps in and pushes all their chips soon).

It's obvious that KD would want out if Kyrie gets traded.

KD might be the one traded first.

There's just nothing there if Kyrie is gone.

I mean Ben Simmons as the 2nd best player behind KD?

Here's the thing about KD going to other teams, those teams would not be contenders with everything they have to give up for KD.

But Boston will become an even better contender if it gets KD.

With JT, KD, Rob, Smart, Al, and Brogs as the top 6 core players, that's close to unbeatable in a 7-game series.

The question is will it disrupt the chemistry if you trade JB, PP, Gallo, and multiple picks for KD.

It won't be long now before the JB for KD trade restarts again.

If GSW gets KD for Jordan Poole and the other young players GSW has, it's game over for the rest of the NBA.

JB and multiple picks for KD, hard pasa on that not worth.
1-1 and maybe 1 pick is ok.

Odd distinction, just because the picks wouldn't have a lot of value.

Wasting time talking about a KD trade before the deadline but by all means anything goes here. I doubt he is demanding out now to be moved within 4 days, that type of deal is like a 4 for 1 and those are extremely hard in season. I also doubt the nets are going to acquiesce to his demand right now even if he did.

They’d have like 72 hours to listen to offers and make what could be a decade long franchise crippling decision on 2 huge players. It’s just stupid to believe it will happen right now. In the offseason? Sure, it’s a real possibility. Kyrie trade by the deadline? A really good chance. KD ? No chance in hell.

Lastly, about the “jb for KD gonna start here any minute stuff”- if the Celtics win the championship this season I don’t think any of that talk comes up again nearly as much here. I know I won’t be anywhere near as passionate that it should happen if we win. Jaylen also was pretty outspoken against tsai so I’m not sure the nets would even want him as a top option. Jaylen also can kill any deal now in the offseason by saying I won’t resign somewhere.

I said back then that when the season starts Jaylen won’t be an option for the nets in season. Still believe it. But moot point - the KD drama will be for the summer for other teams not us imo.

The Celtics have the the best record inflated by a hot start and have not playing the best basketball in the league for a while now. They need another reliable player now that Grant is a bum . If teams like the Bucks or 76ers add any good players they are better. It's pretty even now but one move can give several teams a nice boost. Celtics are very much a live and die by the three team which is a grab bag team unless the defense goes up another tier. They have a great record but too many bad losses to bad teams that are total head scratchers.

Maybe I'm missing something but I see Boston as a very logical destination for OG Anunoby, both for fit and matching salary. White, Hauser, and combination of picks and swaps.

As currently constructed, Toronto probably prefers a shooting guard, but they will most likely trade FVV and/or Trent Jr., so they will really need 2 guards. If they don't want White, he could easily be moved to a 3rd team with the return going back to Toronto. They also need shooting, hence the inclusion of Hauser. I like White, but I'm not sure he plays a lot in the playoffs if we have a healthy Smart and Brogdon. Boston keeps the low cost Pritchard. Boston can trade up to 3 1st round picks and add swaps. Contrast this package with a team that has been mentioned in OG rumors-Memphis. Zaire Williams is an ok young player but not a major prospect, and their picks are no more valuable.

Williams/Horford/Kornet
Tatum/Grant
OG/Barton?
Brown/Pritchard
Smart/Brogdon

Top 8 in playoffs-
R Williams
Horford
Grant
Tatum
Brown
OG
Smart
Brogdon

As needed backups
Barton
Pritchard
Kornet

What am I missing here?

Yes Golden State is a very realistic partner with Poole, Kuminga, Wiseman, picks etc.

You know him, you love him, you can't get enough of him...

The erstwhile Jimmy Stew has some interesting news:

First, the Lakers have no interest in Kyrie.

Secondly, Celtics Trade Targets!

You can never have enough Celtics Trade Targets...

Some surprises there, in a graphics-intensive posting, which includes names who have not been mentioned before:

AD - Seems a difficult get at the present time.

Keon Johnson - This one from left field.

Isaiah Stewart - Intrigued! Would fit in the TPE. Wonder what they would have to
give up for him? A definite Wyckian "muscling up" type of acquisition.

Immanuel Quickley - Another TPE Guy or perhaps Grant Williams?

And most of the usual suspects: Poetl, Kelly, Vanderbilt, Hart, Barton (B Robb doesn't feel he's being bought out either),
Winslow, Green, Kenrich W., etc.

Bucks - lost to the hornets, lost to the wizards, lost to the bulls twice, lost to the lakers, lost to the rockets, etc. Also, they're 0-1 vs Boston and lost in the 2nd round to Boston last year

Sixers - lost to the magic, lost to the thunder, lost to the bulls, lost to the pelicans, wizards, rockets, hornets, etc. Also, they're 0-1 vs the celtics and haven't gotten out of the 2nd round in like 20 years
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Last summer KD had the Suns, Heat, and Boston as his potential destination if traded.

Right now Boston is the only team, among the 3, that can trade for KD and still end up being contenders.

It's not Boston who's going to call the Nets, it's the Nets who's going to call Boston because Boston has the best player available right now.

Celts have no need to make a big trade right now.

But that's not going to stop the Nets from trying.

Will the Nets be happy with Ayton and Bridges or Herro and picks for KD?

JB, Gallo, PP, and a pick or picks for KD works.

So it's not a 4 for 1 or 5 for 1 trade.

If you're Boston you have to think about it because having KD with JT automatically increases the chances of winning a championship this year and next year.

The question is, will it disrupt chemistry?
