The erstwhile Jimmy Stew has some interesting news:

Secondly, Celtics Trade Targets!

You can never have enough Celtics Trade Targets...

Some surprises there, in a graphics-intensive posting, which includes names who have not been mentioned before:

AD - Seems a difficult get at the present time.

Keon Johnson - This one from left field.

Isaiah Stewart - Intrigued! Would fit in the TPE. Wonder what they would have to
give up for him? A definite Wyckian "muscling up" type of acquisition.

Immanuel Quickley - Another TPE Guy or perhaps Grant Williams?

And most of the usual suspects: Poetl, Kelly, Vanderbilt, Hart, Barton (B Robb doesn't feel he's being bought out either),
Winslow, Green, Kenrich W., etc.

He just pasted a bunch of AP photos into a "listicle" and said nothing.

Willy Hernangomez with the TPE - or, if the price isn't too high - Vanderbilt. Barton as a buyout signing.

Realistic moves that fortify our depth and preserve our assets.

That being said, I also wouldn't be surprised if Brad decides to shake things up a little bit at the end of the bench. You've got Hauser, Pritchard and Kornet - all unathletic guys who lack strength, aren't very good on D and haven't been giving much on O either. Gallo likely out for the year. Griffin barely ever plays. Jackson barely ever plays. Wouldn't surprise me if 1 of these guys (maybe more than 1) is gone soon..

Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I begged Ainge to draft Isaiah Stewart but he didn't listen to me.

Fightin' Mo Bamba is also rumored to be available.

Danny had a good success rate with picks but he could be streaky. Can’t knock him Rob and Grant though, two picks in the 20s and major contributors

random BUT I was surprised to just learn that Will Barton is 32 years old

would've guessed 28 or something -- wasn't aware he played 3 years in POR before getting to DEN
Paul Pierce appreciation society.

Right now Boston is the only team, among the 3, that can trade for KD and still end up being contenders.

It's not Boston who's going to call the Nets, it's the Nets who's going to call Boston because Boston has the best player available right now.

Celts have no need to make a big trade right now.

But that's not going to stop the Nets from trying.

Will the Nets be happy with Ayton and Bridges or Herro and picks for KD?

JB, Gallo, PP, and a pick or picks for KD works.

So it's not a 4 for 1 or 5 for 1 trade.

If you're Boston you have to think about it because having KD with JT automatically increases the chances of winning a championship this year and next year.

The question is, will it disrupt chemistry?

As captain and lifetime achievement award winner of trade Jaylen for an mvp candidate and most recently kd I’d give up this dream if I was you man. Obviously feel free to do you.

He’s not being traded within 72 hours and he’s not coming here if he was.

I'm not dreaming of KD to Boston because I'm more concerned about the chemistry being ruined if Brad pulled the trigger.

What I'm saying is it will be the Nets who will be the initiators because they know JB is the best player they can get and KD is willing to go to Boston.

That is very impressive D. He would look good in green.

I disagree on several fronts but that’s ok. I don’t think the nets call any teams about Durant- 1000% not right now and likely ever. He’s not a guy you willingly give up. Even during the height of his demand last summer they sat back and let teams call them which is what you do to drive up a negotiation and what they’ll do if he’s available in the offseason.

Also disagree that Jaylen will the best asset they can get now. He’ll be in the last year of his contract this season. He low keyed bashed the owner and his stance on vaccinations isn’t clear. The enthusiasm on getting him is likely very much dimmed.

MagicBagley spitting facts about KD -- Nets aren't going to panic and move him. And does anyone even know if he's going to be sad to see Kyrie go? Wasn't a possible guess as to why KD asked for a trade last summer was because maybe he'd had enough of the Irving Experience? (note: I avoid reading/listening to anything about the Nets, so I don't know what public statements have been made about KD and Kyrie's relationship, but I wouldn't necessarily trust public statements from or regarding these two anyway)

Seems like a Fournier buy out would follow. Part II?

Honestly, taller than Pritchard and more dyanic than Hauser. I'd take him for the Gallo injury exemption.

If Brad really wants to follow Wyc's orders and muscle up for this year, he'll give up the necessary picks/assets to get these 2 in green:

Jarred Vanderbilt
KJ Martin

With how much both of them push the pace, get out and run in transition and turn defense into offense, we'd be getting so many easy baskets. No more stagnant half court offense!

Good luck to anyone trying to beat this squad:

C Rob
F Horford
F Tatum
G Brown
G Smart

Bench: Brogdon, White, Vanderbilt, Martin, Grant

You play all 10 of them in the rotation. Going with a deeper rotation, we keep all of our guys fresh and we'll wear opponents down by the time we get to the 4th quarter.

Plus, many games at least 1 of those 10 guys will likely be out anyways..

Why would they buy him out?

That's a good trade for the Knicks if they don't give up more than one first-rounder

Lads and Laddies,
Some interesting stuff from the Sportshub Celtics Hour with Jim Murray,
the Globe's Chris Gasper and the hardest working elocutor in Sports: B Robb.

Gasper: They are missing Smart.

B Robb: It's a pipe dream, that Gallo is coming back this season.

Gasper/Murray: Kyrie gets what he wants and hates it, but if he goes to Miami, it's a problem for the Celtics.

Group: Kyrie being traded could be a linchpin for other major deals (including the Cs) and possibly the Raptors may
hold off on any major trades, so they could target Durant with their assets in the offseason.

Gasper: They shouldn't hesitate to trade a First Round Pick for PJ Washington, Jaden McDaniels, I think
he mentioned brother Jalen too.

Murray: That phony Celtics win against the Lakers...

Gasper: Glad this Suns loss (worst of the season and Tatum's poorest performance) came before the Trading Deadline,
so Stevens understands there are personnel needs to be addressed.

B Robb: I know the Celtics are interested in Olynyk. Gasper: Olynyk's okay, but I want a more athletic Big Man.

Gasper: The Goble brothers are jokes as referees and when they're officiating a game, it's
a "S**** Show!"

Gasper: I want the Celtics to add a significant rotational piece and discusses trading Grant Williams and Gallo to add
such a player.

Return to Boston Celtics
