Re: 2023 NBA Draft
Was considered a weak draft at the time and turns out to be right. The draft still produced players though like all drafts.
Anthony Edwards
Lamelo Ball
Onyeka Okongwu
Devin Vassell
Tyrese Haliburton
Tyrese Maxey
Desmond Bane
Probably the best players to come out of it

Re: 2023 NBA Draft
Ya no hindsight needed when talking about that draft. Since Ive been on here, that was by far the most dead the Draft board has been on here. There was really just nothing to talk about. LaMelo was playing over seas, anyone who paid attention to Wiseman in high school knew he had huge question marks that didnt get answered at his short stint at Memphis. Edwards was just putting up inefficient numbers on a horrible Georgia team.
Even with all that, add on Patrick Williams and Isaac Okoro finished out the top 5. Patrick Williams was a 6th man for FSU and Okoro was an undersized forward who was extremely raw offensively. That was your 4th and 5th pick.
Everyone knew that class was weak going into it and during the entire build up to the draft really no one jumped up and really made it an exciting class.

not only was lamelo playing overseas, but he didn't exactly play well. his efficiency numbers were atrocious over there. iow, the second overall pick was a major question mark - and you mentioned the others. not sure there was anybody you could really feel great about.

Yup thats a great point. Again Ive never seen this place as dead as it was that year. It also didnt help that was coming off of a draft where we just watched Zion and Ja just light up college basketball and those two having sky high NBA ceilings.
But ya doesnt take hindsight to say 2020 was a weak draft, that was something most knew going into that year and the entire year build up to the draft didnt help it out.

But yeah, most knew that draft was weak. I did like Hayes. Oh well.
There's a pretty clear top 6 - Edwards, Haliburton, Ball, Bane, Maxey and Vassell.

i have (and have had) him 12th currently is that being slept on?
i honestly don't know how people can have Keegan as a top 5 pick last year and have Wilson out of the first this year, I think Wilson is at least as good of not a better prospect.

I think he’s def top 20 and will be better than his teammate GD.
Keegan will be an elite 3pt shooter and floor spacer. His offensive IQ is elite.
Wilson will be a DDR with a high volume 3 ball and active D. At 6’8 225 he will play 3/4 and be a matchup advantage.
I would not be surprised if Wilson averages 15ppg his rookie season.

Yeah, he is going to have to either become a crazy defender or a very good shooter to really make an impact.

Gradey's higher for me but yea, top 20 is the floor imo

I like Wilson but Keegan was a lot better IMO. I think Wilson is more in the Saddiq Bey caliber of prospects (like Wilson a bit more).

im just not convinced Keegan is that much better tbh, he had a better year in college obv and is a year younger coming out, was more efficient converting around the rim too but I think Wilson's physical profile projects better to the NBA, and imo just plays with a lot more force on both ends, even tho Wilson should be a better defender than he currently is, but not like Keeg is/was stout defensively really. both have questions in the playmaking dept but I'd take Wilson there too.
i don't think Keegan goes anywhere near #4 in THIS class tho, probably closer to the end of the lotto than the beginning of it, which is where I have Wilson @ this point too.

Re: 2023 NBA Draft
The lottery of this draft is getting overstuffed with quality prospects. If it were up to me, these guys would get drafted in the lottery: Victor, Scoot, Amen, Ausur, GG, George, Whitmore, Miller, Sensabaugh, Smith Jr., Walker, Howard, Hendricks, Black
However, I could also see Dick, Murray and Wallace challenging for one of those spots.

Re: 2023 NBA Draft
Out of the 3 Millers in this draft Brandon Miller obviously has the most hype being a projected Top 5 pick, but I was curious who you guys think will be the second best Miller in this draft? Leonard or Baba?
They both seem raw at this point but I assume people think think they have a lot of “potential” with their length and skill sets.
It’s interesting that all 3 of the Millers are listed as SF and being 6’9”, 6’10” and 6’11” respectively.
I’ve seen those 2 in mocks be anywhere from mid/late 1st to early 2nd round. It’ll be interesting to see wether they’ll be sleepers or busts.

I doubt Baba Miller ever gets up to speed this season. However, he is one of my favorites in the draft. Funny enough, I think both Baba and Leonard should be trying to carve out an NBA role like Jaden McDaniels. I like both in the 20-35 range of this draft.
