Bill Simmons trade value rankings

This list seems really bad. I question if he even watches the game anymore.
What's the biggest omission? Who's ranked too high? Too low?
Biggest omission to me is Jaden McDaniels, not even an honorable mention is a joke when you look at some of those names.

I don't see anything terrible here. Trade value is really difficult to do.

Your first mistake was clicking a Bill Simmons article. Talk about a guy that likes to smell his own farts.

He’s a media legend and has the best basketball podcast for like 10+ years now…I feel like he’s allowed to be cocky

Re: Bill Simmons trade value rankings
I loved Bill's page 2 column and read his stuff ocassionally at Grantland. This trade list is a joke. Lebron at 36 behind Chet? Markkanen at 32? Jrue Holiday at 23? Dame over Donovan?
You're going to get into trouble trying to group guys like he does but some of these are really bad.

Luka at #1 is correct but that list gets weird too.

I simply don't take Bill Simmons trade rankings seriously. He doesn't take age, Contract, or injury history into consideration at all when evaluating a players value on the market.

This is a nitpick, but the ball being blue in the pics is driving me crazy.

If that is the case then Lillard at 38 is the biggest slap in the face I have ever seen. I hope Lillard sees this so he can have more fuel to make this dumb ass supposed analyst look like a tool.
I would be livid if Lillard was traded straight up for a good number of the guys above him on this list, and my evaluation of the trade would take into account Lillard's age and contract.

Re: Bill Simmons trade value rankings
Yeah I don't get OP this list is perfectly fine.
Lebron at 36 feels way too low. Flip his spot with Franz Wagner at 25. Those are the only two that jumped out at me.

He's listed as 21st, ahead of Mitchell, Trae, LeBron and Kawhi, if aything h's too high.

Re: Bill Simmons trade value rankings
I don't really care about the rankings here, it's fun to read Bill Simmons write. His whacky snowballing excitement style always jumps off the page. Even when it isn't insightful analysis, it's still pretty fun. I miss the Bill Simmons writer days. He was like the Stephen King of sports journalism: the ability to blend sports into the zeitgeist and pop-culture tapestry while writing whatever tf he feels like.

Re: Bill Simmons trade value rankings
I'd want some changes to probably most lists, nobody can ever agree on this stuff.
But I will say that if you are looking for expert analysis, that has NEVER been Bill Simmons' thing. He does sports comedy & entertainment, I find his podcasts great to throw on a long drive, not really have to fully pay attention, and get some laughs out of 2-3 guys chatting about sports. If you're expecting Ben Taylor or Zach Lowe, Bill isn't that.
Bill sometimes takes his own analysis a bit too seriously, but you don't have to

It's not all bad but I hate how clearly Bill lets personal investments affect his valuation

Agreed. Page 2 was nice, but I have 0 interest in his pop culture takes in 2023
