I am with you!

Even if we can't do this exact deal the framework of turning a single player into 2 or 3 players with potential upside to make a bigger impact is how we are going to get ourselves back to having a quality 8-9 man rotation.

That depth is what this team needs more than anything. Picks are a way to get there eventually but actual players with upside should definitely be the priority.

This team definitely needs just more talent, badly. Why I really hope we somehow do a 1 for 2/3 deal plus pick up and extra first rounder.

we need more talent and more importantly higher quality talent. trading 1 for 2/3 plus pick is just diluting your talent base; trading a quarter for two dimes and a nickel.
more preferably we need to do 2/3 for 1 trade where that 1 is better than 2+3 combined.
as far as the draft we need more blue chip prospects which hopefully we can get with our high FRP. we'll also have koloko, precious and high second round pick as other wild card prospects. porter should be back next year. what we need a strong backup guard presence, which hopefully we can target with our MLE.

Nets get even with Kyrie by trading him to the Raptors.

Might come down to wire with masai vs griffin cuz the hold out gonna be trey murphy. They aint giving up top 2 lakers pick so it will be protected.

If we dont get murphy we walk. Dyson too slow to be an eletric guard with mediocre shot.

Else keep OG move or him somewhere else

Dyson is just taller version of Suggs. Don't want

These loser Pelicans are ruining the value of the Lakers pick.

At the rate that they've been sucking for weeks, they wont need to swap picks for a higher spot

Once kyrie goes to the lakers that pick won’t be worth ****.

LOL these posts won't age well.

The both of you are sleeping on Dyson, just give it 2-3 years and more consistent minutes, I'm not saying he'll be a superstar but he's gonna be a damn good player long term. He already has ELITE defensive instincts that at minimum he'll become one of the better defenders in the league, really good court vision, better ballhandler and size for the position (Suggs is just too short & stocky, not to mention injury prone).

He's barely starting to get a feel of the NBA game in such limited minutes. As he gets more reps he's going to be able to read the game better & better...while I've always said Trey first, Dyson + a pick (maybe Jones too, although I think the KD drama will lessen the offers we get) would not be a bad result at all.

I think you go the direction of Poeltl you are looking at Toronto as one piece away. He is going to be cheaper but you keep this older group together which has no real room to improve. We know how good they are and they are in the lotto.

I don't particularly like Ayton at the moment, but getting a young C with size and upside, that will also force Nurse out of his ridiculous switching defense, is a good start. Hate the contract but it isn't close to negative value at all and he is at position that there is scarcity.

The best teams in the league have franchise Cs and if you do believe in Toronto player development, Ayton could have that potential.

That’s not really true at all.

Daniels is a plus defender, good passer, excellent size. Not sure about his offensive upside. But I'd be surprised if NO moves him.

Rap acquire:

Suns acquire:

Jakob Poeltl

Spurs acquire:
Thad Young
Koloko
Suns 2023 FRP
Raps 2025 SRP

Suns get two huge additions that should improve both their PG and C position. Raps get their long-term C. Spurs get a first and plus Koloko and a SRP. Not a bad haul for Poeltl.

I'd be open to this. Drop the Raps SRP. If the Spurs don't like it meh. Ayton looks like he doesn't care. Yet IMO is worth a flyer on if that's the direction the team will go. I'd rather Fred and Poeltl too. Koloko and Thad are not getting Poeltl unfortunately. And this team is not in a position to be trading away FRps.

The prediction taking an edible and listening to a pod where they talked about OG fitting well on the Warriors has led me to think the forever rumoured Warriors deal might happen.

Either:

Warriors - OG, Thad, 2 2nd rounders
Raptors - Kuminga, Moody, Wiseman, 1st rounder, minimum guy

You can send Wiseman to a 3rd team if you want and an expiring or 2023-24 money player coming back here, if someone among the other 28 teams values Wiseman more than we do, which they might since there are teams that look stylistically very different from the Warriors and might fancy him (like Kelly Oubre) if they're not very deep at centre and loved him in the draft.

Since the deal was rumoured:
-Warriors have gotten less development from their young guys than expected with Wiseman being statistically the worst player in the entire league for another year
-The Warriors look like they would be favorites to win the title if they upgrade with a starter who fits (and everyone's healthy and not punching each other) but not if they don't and the West is wide open with no veteran teams who've been there looking as good as they did in the playoffs last year
-Raptors have gone from playoff team to play-in or tanking team

Precious-Koloko
Siakam-Barnes
Barnes-Kuminga
Trent-Moody
VanVleet/MLE-2022 1st

and then we Barnes the backup 4 and get Kuminga more time. Boucher becomes movable to get us cap space in the summer of 2024 even after signing Siakam, since Barnes/Moody/Kuminga won't be extension eligible until 2025. Even if Van Vleet gets traded for Pat Bev, Lonnie Walker and a first rounder or Reggie Jackson + Covington and a first rounder and it looks the same, and we have an extra first in the bag from the Van Vleet deal to upgrade via trade from Pat Bev or the other MLE point guard we bring in, which could well be the other one from Pat Bev or Reggie Jackson we don't trade for.

I wouldn’t be mad with something like this as a backup plan because I still believe Kuminga has upside.

Don’t think we need to throw in SRPs though. Those players aren’t productive at the moment. By giving them OG it really bolsters them for another championship run. That FRP should be unprotected or very lightly protected.

If we trade Pascal instead with additional unprotected post Curry era FRPs coming back. That can work too.

How so. The market for him right now is LA and Dallas. None of whom figured majorly with raptors. It’s Durant who will move the market

Hurts us with Clippers apparently and conceivably the Heat. Might help us with Nets if they want to get assets for Kyrie then move them to us.
