How?

Again, don't think you realize just how low Kyrie's value actually is. He's not getting you a blue chip package, he's more trouble than he's worth in most situations.

The fact that we got two serviceable players and a 1st rounder for him is honestly amazing.

From who? The Clippers were offering a bucket of ass water, dude.

We robbed Dallas blind, are you kidding me??

What was their offer BTW? I had read somewhere that their offer was a strong one, but the article didn't mention any names.

Yup kyrie had very little value. The value u did get was bc of his talent. That's why all the posts I seen about getting Trae or CP3, any other real starting acquisition wasn't gona happen. I'd be happy to get a 1st for this nutcase

“Robbed” this move makes us a 2nd round team at best. But at least we “robbed” the Mavs.

The fact that Kyrie got no contract promises shows how much of an idiot he is.

Hes going to Dallas with no promise of anything!!! The same exact situation he was in here.

And its on a worse team.

The guy is a class A moron.

Agree. Surprised, honestly.

I don't think the team is finished making moves as there is definitely a need for a second scorer. However, all things considered, good start.

I was initially of the opinion there was no way to contend if he's traded but there is a chance the team could actually improve when it's all said and done.

Addition by subtraction

How folks aren't excited to bring Spencer back home is beyond me.

FR. Its awesome to have Din back. He loved it here and we know he's going to give it his all.

I wonder if Dame is possible? They are not anywhere close to contending. Simmons, Thomas, Mavs first, Sixers first, Nets first. I don't think they'd get a better offer. Could even do Claxton for Nurk to add more value.

Not mad at the trade at all.

I won't judge really until we're done making moves. My guess is we're planning on moving that Dallas pick.

DFS is a great wing fit and Dinwiddie has been really good this year. We all know what he brings to the table. We have a ton of size in the starting lineup now.

Only question i have is how KD feels about all this. Is he telling the front office to surround him with a win now team? Or is he sulking in the background getting ready to demand a trade too?

Yeah, he overplayed his hand much as he did during the offseason. We'll see if he can make it the rest of the way without finding some excuse to sit out or cause controversy.

We should move on from KD too. He's proven himself to still be an MVP-caliber player. Holding on to him and trying to scrounge together a win now team that has a 2nd round ceiling at best isn't the answer. We should retool and look to rebuild the team again, and we can get a lot of value out of KD right now.

And we should do it before he goes public with a trade demand and forces our hand like Kyrie did, because then we lose a ton of leverage, teams around the league will know we're desperate.

Very good value. 2 staters, a future unprotected 1st & 2 future seconds from the Mavs was about as good as we could have expected. Now to steal Luka when he hits free agency.

Great trade for Nets…

Haopy for Din

Imagine how good lineup on defence will be:

Ben
Din
DFS
KD
Clax

can all switch …. when Ben need to go to bench there is also Royce… probably DFS comes of the bench

It’s actually pretty good. We get back Dinwiddie, add a really good 3&D piece next to Royce and Clax. Have picks to use for another piece like Lavine.

Yep. Marks needs one more move here

Claxton is close to untouchable imo. I'm not trading him. 23 years old and one of the best big men in the league already. It's the same mistake we made with Jarrett Allen, that kind of player isn't someone you just throw away for an aging star who may or may not help you at the end of the day, and doesn't really even address our needs.

Doesn’t matter if teams know you’re desperate. There will be the same bidding war either way. All you need is two or more interested parties and the Nets situation becomes irrelevant.

That's exactly how I feel. KD could legit swing the championship picture. His value is higher than it'll ever be.

But this Kyrie trade kind of goes against that strategy. Dinwiddie and DFS are both 29. This is a win now move. Unless KD demands out, i expect us to keep trying to build a winning roster around him.

His agent/stepmom is an idiot. No one in their right mind would agree to losing so much money

Kyrie may be out of the league next season.

The next few days will be very telling. The Kyrie deal was done asap so Marks can figure out how to either compliment Durant with another co star or potentially get a gargantuan haul for him. Portland, Chicago and Toronto will all be sellers this week; I have my eyes on Lavine, Lillard, Siakam. Nets WILL make another move and this week will make or break whether we rebuild or retool.
