Great trade for the Nets.
Mavericks are going to regret this.

I am with you. I think they will win more in the regular season now. Not sure if those guys can win you games in the playoffs though. Another thing that will happen for the Nets as a result of this is some of the younger guys like Cam Thomas and David Duke Jr. will step and contribute more.

Nets won the trade. Could be better now. Watch for follow-ups, if they can find a more dynamic scorer than Harris/Curry in a trade they'll have better chemistry, less drama, addition by subtraction. If Cam Thomas steps up, they're going to be ok.

Next domino is probably Westbrook. Lakers want to do *something*. And the Clippers have to pivot to a new point guard upgrade.

Even Kyrie, as eccentric as he is, is smart enough not to
encroach upon the auspices of the CIA.

But back to the Trade Deadline. It will be interesting now to see if the Mavs
move C. Wood (as part of a package) for a third star. Very daring, if they can, and I like their strategy.
And it could propel some of the other contending clubs to make significant moves.

If they mesh in time and if they can get Simmons right, Nets will be a pain to deal with defensively. They can field a starting lineup of Simmons-DFS-O’Neal-KD-Clax. No weak link on defense. Bench is all-offense lol. They’ll probably close with Dinwiddie in Simmons place.

Why did Dallas do this? There is only one ball. The answer I suppose is that Luka was clamoring for help behind the scenes. He'll find out the hard way that Kyrie is not what the Mavs needed.

I honestly don’t think Doncic is mature enough to handle and endure what’s to come. Doesn’t matter if they consulted him prior to the trade.

Kyrie is a Cancer. Wow. I'm really surprised.
Mavs can't control him.

I thought he was overpaid by a few million and it turned out to be a good deal. Not much of a whiff. Never called for him to be traded other than KD, who is one of the all-time greats.

And just to be 1000% clear, the only reason we even trade posts is you insulting me over a player you are precious about, not the other way around. I don't even know or care who you are beyond you sniping at me.

1. Luka-Kyrie is similar to Lebron-Kyrie. However, Kyrie wasn’t happy in that role when Lebron was a 3 time champion. It can work - at least on offense - if Kyrie defers. My guess is that Dallas will try a sign and trade this off season.

2. Nets are dramatically better. If Durant is truly a top 3 player in the heat of the playoffs - the Nets are legit contenders. However, without Kyrie’s elite ability to score….the Nets can be beat by slowing Durant and daring the rest to beat you. This used to be impossible but last year the Celtics made it look easy.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

It's intriguing, but.. Kyrie only has gravity because he's good, he's not big on off-ball movement or creating for teammates, he's basically going to end up in the same role he didn't like in Cleveland because Luka wants to run everything through Luka.

If it works, Dallas just went from a 6 seed to a 4.. need to see if they can luck out and swing anything with THJ or Wood..

I'm calling Anunoby or Westbrook as the next big trade to drop..

Btw with Kyrie going west, Jaylen could end up an all-star starter

Get real with the nets are dramatically better stuff. They are better defensively but are no longer a championship team at all. And with kyrie dysfunction you could say they never were really but there was always the chance if they got their act together.

Durant will be outta there in the summer.
