Re: Kyrie Wants Out
the signal here is that the nets are still trying to field a competetive team and have no interest in re-building since their own picks go to houston.
dinwiddie becomes a $21 mil expiring this summer which may be re-used in another deal.
i expect more deals for the nets before the deadline tho - they have a $9 mil expiring for seth to be moved.

Re: Kyrie Wants Out
The only way i trade KD is if he asks out. The focus now should be to flip assets for another piece.

Can’t touch guys like Seth and don’t expect KD to get annoyed. We need to keep our roster as is and add to it accordingly. We’ll need more shot creators more than ever now.

Re: Kyrie Wants Out
Do we think KD was made aware of this situation and signed off on trading Kyrie? I mean, he's gotta know that we had no choice right? Maybe he got to the point where he was like, I really wish it could have worked with Kyrie, but it wasn't meant to be...I don't have to be a package deal with him though and maybe this Brooklyn situation could still be a good thing?
IDK, but if I was in his shoes and I look at the roster...it's still a pretty decent roster, with room for improvement. It doesn't make or break with Kyrie.

Expected a miserable week of this
Same this had to be on the table already
He can go sage some other arena a piss on other fans and teammates
And honestly you can tell everything since he was suspended was all an act.
Personally wish they traded him to a non playoff team but looking forward to him and Luka not getting along and him getting a 1 year deal for the rest of his career
At a certain point everyone else can't be the problems
Cavs and LeBron
Celtics rozier and ainge
Nets Atkinson harden Nash and then tsai
It's not worth it to deal with the bull

Kyrie Wants Out
Simmons
Dinwiddie
Royce
KD
Claxton
Sumner
Curry
Joe
Finney Smith
Warren
Yuta
We actually got deeper. Tons of good role players who can switch on D and shoot well.
Kyrie could’ve played this out until the summer after the deadline but he actually did help us recoup some value.

The next move we make will be very telling; is this Nets team going to retool or rebuild is the Q. I think with a few FRP and Thomas, Curry, we can and should look at Portland as a trade partner. Lillard/Nurcic is intriguing and the Bulls have Lavine/Vucevic. Marks has to look at those situations.

Re: Kyrie Wants Out
We all need to remember, our teams record with just durant as our lone star is still pretty good. Let’s surround him with defence and run a good offensive system. Kd manages to real galvanise our team as the only star.

Re: Kyrie Wants Out
Our entire projected starting lineup is now 6’5 and above. I think we should see a drastic change on defense. I do think we can now compete against some other East teams.

I won't judge really until we're done making moves. My guess is we're planning on moving that Dallas pick.
DFS is a great wing fit and Dinwiddie has been really good this year. We all know what he brings to the table. We have a ton of size in the starting lineup now.
Only question i have is how KD feels about all this. Is he telling the front office to surround him with a win now team? Or is he sulking in the background getting ready to demand a trade too?
There's no way KD hasnt been notified about this and being kept up to date. This trade says we are still trying to win a chip, KD has a relationship with Spence and him DFS are good friends. With all these picks we defiantly making one more move, that can possible make us better than the original roster we had before the season.

Yeah but there’s allegedly him wanting to play with DFS and he’s always mentioned him as a top tier defender.

& while Dinwiddie is not a great defender, he is a big guard that fits better in a switch everything scheme.

I would say it's the same kind of false hope that we had after we traded Harden, we were talking about how we were actually a more balanced, deeper team that was able to defend better...but that hasn't really worked out, it's clear that Harden is more valuable than anything we got back. Seth Curry is nothing more than a good role player, and Simmons is garbage (gotta call it what it is, he's the worst offensive player in the league).
But Kyrie is nowhere close to Harden, and I actually do think the combo of Dinwiddie and DFS are better than him.

if you can somehow flip joe harris + frp's for john collins then you may have something. but losing kyrie basically puts all the playoff scoring onus on KD as the lone elite creator.

I haven't watched Dinwiddie regularly since we traded him, but he was a fantastic on ball creator with us. Not Kyrie level, but perfectly good enough. And people are saying he's still very good, so I think we're ok, especially if we look to obtain one more shot creator with whatever assets we have left.
I agree with looking to package Simmons and picks or Curry/Harris and picks to acquire someone else.

I'd try to make a strong play for OG.

Whether the trade fails or succeeds won't be based on the same circumstances. Simmons was out for all of last year and had bad surgery with mental issues. Curry was a good shooter that is serviceable to some degree; Dinwiddie and DFS have been consistently available and we get another FRP to potentially package later on in the week for another star and potentially a rotation player. Marks had to move Kyrie because there is a bigger trade coming, either to retool or rebuild.
