Nothing is ever clear when it comes to Kyrie Irving.

A hungry Kyrie Irving who is trying to prove everyone wrong is a very scary proposition for the playoffs.

You don't want to be on the other end guarding him. He'll show you what 27 PPG looks like.

I keep see a lot of negative takes but anyone who a Mavs fan and expect us to get Talent around Luka should see this as a win win.

We get a test run with Luka and Atleast a top 10-15 player, we never even had that with Dirk.

AND

If it doesn’t work out we will have pretty much Max cap space in the summer to give a lot of flexibility. Nico just HAS to make the right moves now. I gotta give it to them Jumping on this because my first thought is why the hell didn’t we get Tim Hardaway out but we got OUT of 2 contracts early.

We just need to see what’s next and hope Luka makes some friends around the league that see the value in playing with him.

Excellent trade for us for now.
We desperately need talent so I cannot complain about this trade.

It looks like they’re going to see what the fit looks like before offering him an extension. I think that is smart. I also expected them to give up two first round picks.

Defensively, this team looks awful. I think they won’t extend Wood now. They need a defensive big and a better rebounder.

Is he trying to prove people wrong? He's wrecked the last three franchises he's played for. He wants to be paid and that's his objective at the moment. Kyrie is a day by day type that will forever be a concern. However, we desperately needed talent, and he fills a need.

If Woods doesn't get extended he needs to be traded for value. There's no excuse to let him walk as a half a season rental with the except of being a half a season rental for the playoffs.

I guess this is directed at Joe Tsai and the nets. His extension talks to them was hinged upon winning an NBA championship. That was when he walked away from the table.

I swear I was about to come to your forum and ask you about a Kyrie trade and this news drop.
Would you guys have done a Dindwidde for DFS trade straight up without a FRP because that's what I thought was gonna happend or switch one of those guys with Wood? I'm honestly scared for you guys. You are already a team that is assets strapped and you just traded away two of your four best players for a nutjob that's completly unpredicatble and injury prone and also under performed these last years in the playoffs. This is an all or nothing move and your season just became championship or bust. I always looked at it as a punt year for you until that knicks picked conveyed and you could make your all in move next off season to pair maybe Luka with a second star, but now that's over with that 29 FRP.

What makes this trade so risky is you have so little assets traded Dinwidde and DFS could lose Wood and Kyrie in the off season no team could handle that and would make you lose Luka in like 2 years. You are not a team that should have taken this risky and Kyrie has blown up all the teams he has been on and I can't see this ending in any other way. Either way GL as long as it's not against Denver. :P

The first team practice should be pure comedy.

Kidd- "Hey Kyrie, so yeah, this is a playbook that we used to run all year."

Morris helps with losing DFS. He’s not as good and is older, but it’s a decent substitute.

You're probably thinking of his brother, Kief is pretty much done for the last 3 seasons. Unless all those open looks will help him out a bit. But then again, does he still play defense?

With Kyrie, you can actually recruit superstar talent to the team in 2024 when Bertans' contract expires.

I dislike everything about Kyrie off the floor. He’s an idiot.

That being said, Cuban has finally put a second superstar on the same team. Hasn’t happened in true history of his ownership.

What we gave us is basically nothing in the big picture.

We’ll see how it works out.

Kief is just there as the team's muscle. That guy is a real thug off the court.
