KD didn't join the Nets because he thought they could build around him. He joined the Nets because he thought they could build around him and Kyrie. It's a different calculus now that package deal is no longer. Not saying he's guaranteed to be traded before the deadline or necessarily this offseason but I would be surprised if the Nets doesn't receive enough decent offers to let him go elsewhere. Even KD himself has kinda burned some bridges in Brooklyn too with his "trade me" demand this offseason.
I mean KD is quite a wild card himself so him asking out cant be ruled out I suppose (though we see how that went last time). But the Nets FO haa demonstrated they're trying to win, and that is made much easier with KD on the roster. I dunno, obviously I'm no prophet and could easily be proven wrong but to me the 'evidence' leans much more toward them keeping him than trying to move him.
Again, I don't think it's about a desire for the Nets to trade him. It's about KD no longer being happy there. Kyrie might have been a crappy partner and certainly not the guy he thought he was partnering up with but by most reports KD still liked and supported Kyrie. With Kyrie now gone, what's tying him to the same franchise he requested a trade from like 5 months ago?
I don't think he gets moved this trade deadline and he might not even be traded this offseason but unless the Nets can perform a minor miracle to bring in a legit 2nd star to pair with KD, I just don't see KD having the same motivation or the physical and mental strength to carry a team on his own again.
