Oh I do, I just don't fully buy that excuse lol.

He has a switch that he turns on and off.

Yeah because he looks to get the other people involved first. Imagine him waving suakam and fvv off all game. You think thats gonna work in the locker room? You think nick nurse would like that?

You think great players are as engaged and play with the same intensity and urgency in all 4 quarters? Or do they ramp it up in the 4th and even more in crunch time? Scottie has that IT factor and your complaining he doesn't play with unsustainable energy all game lol

Scottie was off through most of the first 3 quarters (like all of the starters), but that 4th quarter performance was big time. A bunch of aggressive takes, knocked down a three, took and made the last shot of the game over the potential DPOY then came up with the stop on the final possession. Props to Nurse for giving him a little two-minute breather midway through the quarter which allowed him to finish strong too.

Yep.

Top 10 in 4th quarter scoring.

I wonder if we are grooming Barnes as a closer.

We tried with Siakam and FVV and clearly it didn't work.

If it's the case of an on/off switch, that's a double edged sword.

If that's the case he needs to get his off switch yo be good enough.

When Scottie is vibing he turns into a completely different animal on the court. It's hard for him to get going on either side of the ball energetically and emotionally when the team is asking him to sit in a corner and watch FVV and Siakam shoot bricks.

Had no idea this was the case. But like I've been saying trade Fred and Pascal. Build around Barnes, OG, GTJ, and our pick.

Only 13. Yep, in the 4th quarter. With the game on the table.

The more I think about it the more I'm on board with keeping OG and moving FVV and Pascal as long as OG accepts being a 3+D and plays within that role on a consistent basis. Stylistically OG can gel with Barnes. We know FVV cannot and Pascal I'm still not sure about but leaning towards him being incapable of complementing Scottie.

It's Barnes' world or bust. Empower him.

brook lopez and now JJJ. two defensive stalwarts. Pascal nowadays in that position would be yelling and looking for a foul while throwing up a terrible shot.

Paul calls it a floater but it's not, it's like a push shot. That's one of Scottie's money shots where he shields the defender off and then while maintaining good balance he just pushes it into the basket. It's unguardable.

When you talk about a floater you're looking at someone heaving up a shot usually with a higher arc while being in motion and therefore off-balance which makes nailing the shot much more difficult because your muscle memory needs to account for more factors whereas when you are taking that shot like Scottie does there it's easier to be consistent with the mechanics needed to score the bucket.

Looked gassed all game and played very dumb for the first few quarters. Last game of a 7 game road trip and the whole team was probably ready for it to end. He definitely found another gear in that 4th.

He needs to work on that stamina. All those minutes that Nurse is giving him will hopefully lead to better stamina and longer spurts like this.

Showed once again how he can take over a game like no one else on this team.
