This is pretty hilarious

If that report is true, like I was saying earlier then hold on to your butts because Mat is a wild man.

Shams is reporting “…Suns offered CP3, Crowder and one FRP. Suns pivoted after 24 hours.,”
Shams expects Suns to be active
I wonder how Paul feels
Likely cp3 last year can't worry about his feelings here he has to know we make that trade, and if not we move him.

Couldn't agree more. I remember wanting Kyrie back in his Boston days when it seemed like he wanted out. I thought back then he was worth the headache. 5 years later, I'm certain I was wrong about wanting him.

Booker had to be consulted on a possible trade of that magnitude and if he signed off on that it just shows he knows he needs someone else that can actually help create some offense too. This guy has never played with a 20 point per game scorer in his entire career. Let that sink in.

Again I think your angst is directed at the wrong person here.TeamTragic wrote:matt131 wrote:From Shams on the Athletic
“The Suns are known as a potential suitor for Toronto Raptors guard Fred VanVleet, but once Irving became available, Phoenix shifted its focus to the Irving market.
Phoenix offered a package around Paul, Jae Crowder and one first-round pick, sources said. The offer was made within the first 18 hours of Irving’s trade request, and it’s believed that three first-round picks could have clinched a deal, multiple league sources said. However, the Suns never added those picks and failed to make a better offer, beginning to lose interest in a trade for Irving as time went on.
The Suns are expected to be incredibly active over the next several days to add to the roster, as Ishbia is expected to be a resourceful, open-minded team owner.”
Awesome. JJ wouldn't match the other offers on picks because he values them SO much

We do need another scorer and ball handler, even with Mikal's improvements and CP3 showed some age in the playoffs last year.
Was Kyrie the answer? Maybe, maybe not. But he was available and we took our shot. Weird that we backed out so quickly, but perhaps we saw the writing on the wall with Irving potentially leaving ASAP or pulling the same old **** he usually does and didn't want to mortgage our future too heavily on the trade.
We need to be smart and take advantage of available players, especially when it's a superstar, but you can't afford to be too reckless. It's a fine line and everything is a gamble. Easy to sit here and say something went right/wrong, but ultimately we may never know what the better decision would have been.
Hope we are aggressive yet calculated this trade deadline and hopefully someone who moves the needle for us is available.

Meanwhile Kyrie has been killing it this season (while KD has been injured) and they have a better record than the SUNS!
Put your hate for Kyrie aside and look at his numbers.

When the Suns were healthy they had the best record in the league, remember that.

Yes and the Clippers look amazing every year on paper. Tweet at Matt and tell him to upgrade the training staff.
