If the suns had actually traded 3 1sts for Kyrie I think I would have just been done with this team lol

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Yes and the Clippers look amazing every year on paper. Tweet at Matt and tell him to upgrade the training staff.
We went to the finals and had the best record in the league, two very different scenarios
That was in two seperate seasons and I was using that same arguement against the Luka stans.
Cuban wants to build around Luka meanwhile JJ is not building around Booker.

So we were right to back out when the Nets weren't happy with our package and wanted 3 FRP's

Cuban has done a terrible job building around Luka. He might also run Luka out of Dallas if things go wrong with Kyrie. Suns seem to have a good owner now, things will get only better in Phoenix.

My new NBA 2k24 day-dream:
Amassing the war chest to when Luka wants out and we can make an offer:
Luka/Booker/Bridges + defenders would run the league.

Nets might just take what they got via Harden and Kyrie and look to add players this year. I don’t think it’s likely KD gets moved before this summer.

Did we make a token, unserious, offer then backed out completely when the Nets wanted more FRP? Suns had to show they are trying to upgrade, but didn't really want Kyrie.

Per the media we had a set price for Kyrie and if that wasn't possible then we would apparently pursue KD again if/when he becomes available which might not be until the summer.
Meanwhile we STILL have not moved Crowder and are wasting an amazing season from Booker.

Hollinger thinks the Nets leaked the Suns offer. Basically putting any other negotiations between the two teams as done
So no Durant
Makes sense - suns do not talk

This makes more sense. No way JJ lets that out. We don't play that game

If this comes out true then THIS IS BAD!! Our team chemistry was already in question, now it will be in shambles!! You might have to trade Chris at this deadline!!

Agreed
Haynes had the note just after the Irving trade was announced the suns still wanted Durant
Now this about their offer
I think Hollinger is on to something. Jones wouldn’t sell out Paul like that and Jones never talks

Clearly any dealings with the Nets should be out of question at this point, leaking that info is a bad look for the Suns can't be happy about that.

Ok sure, he'll get 20M. But Suns isn't gonna give him that.
If they do, they'll have a higher payroll than Warriors. You think that's happening? Haha
The bottom line is the number Cam wants is a number the Suns can't match, period.
They can match anything. But it depends on a lot of things as far as cap goes. Saric and Crowder expire for about $20 million. And then they could cut Paul and have a $15 million hit instead of $30.
Unless they trade Crowder for future salary...that might hinder it a bit. I think if they don't trade Saric they will probably resign him at very good value this summer, like $5 million a year.
Yes, they can "match". But they'll be the same mediocre team or worse.
Are you looking forward to "Cam Johnson, Mikal Bridges, Devin Booker" as the new big 3?
Let's be honest for a second here, the Achille's heel for the Suns is Ayton. Suns isn't winning anything with Ayton. The current core players didn't win and won't win. The Suns need to make a move.
Or are you one of "run it back" type of people...
It depends on what my alternatives are. I think Bridges is a FAR different and more assertive player than he was a year ago and Ayton is also less tentative. It has resulted in both of them having some bad shooting games, but at the same time, it has increased their confidence to take more shots instead of passing them up. They have developed chemistry themselves with Book out and will be better complementary pieces when Book comes back.
Now, big 3? I think the whole "big 3" thing is stupid, as is started with the Celtics, and then the Heat, but usually you need 1 star and a couple of borderline all stars or 2 stars. Now is Book a big enough star type player to have two or three super solid players around him and could win, like Giannis and Joker and Doncic probably could? Maybe not, but I don't know that trading Ayton and Bridges gets us some star. It certainly hurts our depth. You can't really find two bigger stars than LeBron and AD but we've all seen what happens when you sacrifice depth to get that second star.
I firmly think a lineup of Book/Bridges/Cam/solid PF/Ayton could beat anyone. Not that they would be championship favorites, but one team in the mix.
If it's Book/35 year old injury prone KD, and Cam Johnson with limited depth beyond that and no real good C, I don't know that I see that team going far either.

I would assume they told Chris, but if they didn't and this got out.....don't they HAVE to trade him now?
