Processing…Welcome back Okafor (and Noel?)

Post#1 » by JoJoEmbiid » Sun Feb 5, 2023 9:25 pm

Blue Coats acquired Okafor, Shabazz Napier, and the ‘Brazilian KD’ Bruno Cabocolo for three guys I’ve never heard of. Sixers have also apparently looked into Noel.
What is going on???

I'm all good with a reunion. Why not?

Well we probably wouldn't have Harden via Simmons via the 1st pick if it wasn't for that miserable season with him leading the way so thanks I reckon

Okafor.... Noel...Both lottery picks, both busts, both may possibly be better options than what we currently have at backup center.

The Okafor press conference jersey drop was low-key one of the funniest moments of the Process. I'm surprised he's still grinding. I don't live in Philly anymore but everyone be careful on the Ben Franklin please.

Where is Lloyd Free? I'm sure that he's thrilled with this news. :D

We get back-to-back NCAA title winners.

It's been sort of stressful rooting for a contender the last few years. In a way I'm looking forward to Process 2.0 whenever it happens. There were a lot of good times back then. Everyone is doing it now but Hinkie was the real visionary. We'll always be the first who truly committed to it. I have a sickness, I know...

He is at the Hornets board supporting Dennis Smith Jr.

Blowing one playoff season and coaching job on Montrezl seems to cause him no pause in doing it again. He hates Paul. Putting OK4 out there with the Maxey 2nd unit would give up a ton of points. But if that inflamed knee is as healed as it looks in those recent G league highlights, I don’t see how he can’t return to scoring big down low and opening up the perimeter. Maybe he doesn’t build on a 20 point lead, but maybe we don’t get outscored by 20 a few minutes after Joel sits down.

I take back what I said about Harrell's defense.

Okafor is better on defense than Harrell, also Vegan Okafor is a different beast.

Okafor could be playable if you play a lot of zone or do that scheme nuggets does where they protect Jokic on defense at all cost.

Personally, my issue with Okafor has always been on offense. But I’d take his offense over Harrell’s

Check the stats and you’ll be surprised to find that out.

He’s always been a better scorer than Harrell, but he wasn’t as good at finishing as a roll man. If he’s going to play with Harden, that’s a big problem. If Doc is going with all-bench lineups, it’s less of an issue, but then how many minutes are we really talking about?

Either way, Okafor seems like has matured, and he’ll bring some nostalgic good vibes. It’s surprising how the 3 Process bigs don’t seem to gold any grudges against each other. I guess that’s because one was so much better than the other two, there’s no point. :D

Any chance we call Okafor up? I can't imagine it being a good circumstance as to why.

He doesn't have an NBA contract. He can't be called up unless he signs one. Just like if he was still playing for his old G League team. Plus I think he's hurt. Long way of saying no.

Yup. And just to tag on to this, he's also not eligible for a 2 way contract before anyone gets that idea in their head. That's only for players with less than 4 years experience in the league.
