I won't say that Stephen A does or doesn't have "sources". I think working in the industry as long as he has, I'm sure he does have some. But I also know his job is to stay relevant and even though he may know he's doing flawed reporting ie/ what I think is happening is he's reporting from a "source" within Boston, he does it because the nature of his business isn't genuine reporting, it's clickbait & getting eyes and ears to FirstTake.
Meaning that BOSTON probably is calling....it doesn't mean Brooklyn is doing it.
We heard rumblings over the summer about them "maybe" willing to include Brown and that BKN acknowledged it as the ONLY viable trade option (not OG, Gary....that's what MEDIA said that an OG + Gary package + picks MAYBE a good enough, BKN never did, BKN said Pascal, Scottie or kick rocks). BOS knows now they can make Finals and likely will continue to do so but seeing KD still balling at MVP level, assuming he can stay relatively healthy, they can lock up AT LEAST one, if not more and what's a better feeling than being a potential mini "dynasty". Repeat champs just hits different. They still MAY be able to do so with Brown but with KD, assuming health, that's damn near a lock. So I believe BOS wants it BUUUUT Brooklyn just clearly made a trade with continuing to compete with KD in mind and Brown is FA after next year, he's more guaranteed to stick around than KD.
Unless KD is barking at Tsai to be traded too (which isn't what's being reported) then I don't see why he's moved and this is just Screaming A screaming for attention. But maybe we haven't gotten to the leaks of KD wanting out just yet....the Nets are so damn unpredictable lol smdh
The Boston trade would have been a viable option if they still had Kyrie, not when they will be rebuilding. Who would they have a better chance at re-signing? Pascal/OG or Jaylen Brown. Which team would offer 1st rounders that would be higher in the draft order, that would definitely be the Raptors
