No worse than Clax with Simmons. Scottie can actually do much more than no value Ben.

You are forgetting they have a top 5 offensive player in the league with them

Oh god moving from Fred to Dinwiddie for future crap picks is going to suck

No it doesn't.

This year is a wash anyways, we improve our pick and those picks coming back will be prime assets for a future trade in a couple years or so when Scottie is closer to being a player to compete with, you can then use them in a trade package for another star that might become available. Personally I'd push BKN to include Cam Thomas and I'd pull the trigger.

Not if Siakam is gone in the near future.

Not even that, but doing that trade is an investment in Scottie long term and if Scottie does not develop his shot he is not gonna a star.

I would make moves pretty much assuming Scottie develops a jumper and worry about fit later if he does not

That's why Simmons didn't play in 4th Quarters. Don't forget that they had KD and Kyrie who are insane shotmakers.
Add Siakam to this it's just vomit inducing.

I knew Brooklyn would be interested in FVV as soon as Irving wanted out. If they want Siakam too then we have to get back Claxton at minimum

Dinwiddie is not a better point of attack defender than FVV and he is significantly worse everywhere else on that end too. Mavs defence was almost 6 points per 100 possessions worse with Dinwiddie on the floor because he can't defend anyone (53.8 DFG% overall) and he doesn't force many turnovers either (0.7 STL and 1.1 deflections). The only reason a swap of FVV and Dinwiddie makes sense is if we're getting back a few picks or a decent prospect (like Thomas from the Nets or Green from the Mavs) + a pick. We could do better.

Claxton really made a huge leap this year and anchors their defense. I think Toronto should add someone like Boucher or Achuiwa instead of Young so they have some size coming back. Boucher would make sense to me.

That is so good for us that Sean Marks would probably be investigated for making such an awful move.

ya some Nets fans wouldn't even do Spencer for FVV straight up....let alone giving up 4 additional assets

And people say we overrate our players. Not wanting to do Dinwiddie for Fred is hilarious.

The picks sound great to me, but they won't be great because Dinwiddie has positive value. He'll be worth a 1st of his own next year like Trent, but I'd rather just get the better pick quality with different salary ballast. Especially since we're not even getting younger with that trade.

Makes no sense. A treadmill play.

Makes no sense. Dinwiddie is actually nice & tall lol

I think the problem is that it's not a tanking move...Raptors could even end up being slightly better....end up in no mans land.

Stripping it down and tanking was never feasible, especially stripping it down from a desperation standpoint is never a good move...

We could still end up near the bottom of the lottery, + with future assets to possibly jump up.

But hey, I'm not here to trample of the tankers hopes & dreams

Prospects of interest: Claxton, Cam Thomas, Day'Ron Sharpe, Kessler Edwards, plus maybe could ask Dallas to update trade to include Josh Green.

So many picks:

2023 NBA Draft FRP
Rockets/Sixers
Nets

2027 NBA Draft
Sixers

2028
Nets

2029
Nets
Mavs

Those assets could be enough to pry away a Fredderick VanVleet or Garrison Trent Jr., but not Ogugua

Bkn picks would be way out and the Philly pick will be in the late teens. If kyrie and luka leave then the mavs pick would be worth it, if Luka stays it wont be.

I would rather get the pelicans picks as they will be higher. I also prefer their younger players

Wouldn't individual packages for our players in the Western Conference bear better young players?

Masai playing the Nets and Lakers off each other. Who is going to break first and provide 2 unprotected FRPs for FVV?

a first and spencer for an expiring soon to be max fred is actually a win. Get this ball gremlin out of town to free up scottie, and spencer fits nicely beside him.
