This era's version of Dion Waiters. Guys like this have flashy games but end up hurting the team in the long run. There are tons of these guys around the league now that everyone can shoot except the Raptors.

I can't believe we're even having this conversation lol

Lets get some of those guys here.

Cause our 6'9 length + d with no shooting and offence aint working nor is it fun to watch

21 years old though.

What harder to do?

Teaching selfish guy to play a team game

Or teaching a guy to score and shoot

His youth is my biggest reason. A young growing core of -

All these guys want to be happy is to get the minutes, get the touches, get the opportunity to shine and show their worth. This can’t be done when Fred and Pascal are running on fumes playing 48 minutes/night.

Make everyone happy and trade both Pascal/Fred instead of O.G./Trent.

I don’t want to make this about trade ideas. More so to put out there in the ether that I am vehemently against trading O.G., and would prefer we went with a youth movement.

Mind you we could probably get a young star if we package Fred+Pascal in a deal. But just imagine if both guys were simply gone from the team, and were replaced by serviceable role players. This young core could probably win just as many games this season. And it would have been so much more fun to watch.

Use Trent as more of an off ball combo guard, while Scottie becomes the primary facilitator.
Because of Precious’ size I’d prefer him to be an agile, explosive PF who can shoot the occasional 3.
And O.G. can be O.G.

Obviously not a contender, but that’s a core that could win a playoff round in 2-3 years.
Not to mention if we add a top 10 player via FA or trade when the time is right.

Just a few months ago this board didn’t even want to trade O.G. For Durant, and now they want him gone for 3 1st round picks that probably won’t even amount to what he brings. I don’t get it..

Super lame that this got collapsed into another thread…

I was hoping to have a discussion about what the team would have looked like this season so far and going forward if we had a youth movement.
And how giving more usage + minutes to the young guys could make the team happier/better even.

People think every player on the team has to be a plus defender. Meanwhile Nurse has us giving up wide open 3’s on the regular. It doesn’t make a f**king difference.

Woj: cam Thomas is now considered untouchable.

He gets benched when KD comes back.

So... third youngest player ever. Just say that. He ain't LeBron.

What is his ppg avg this season?

He probably watched the last 2 games. Cam Thomas is Jordan now Lmao.

Let’s forget all the other games he played or all the Dnps he’s collected because he doesn’t pass at all.

Doesn't pass? All I'm hearing is limits turnovers. Sounds like the perfect raptors player.

Like I said before...if he can make the damn shot...why pass it?

Not everyone on the court needs to be the same kind of player. That might explain why this team is the way it is...they all too similar.

I think Cam's just a little bit better than Dion. But hey...agree to disagree, right?

I'd need to see how he handles gummies and air travel before deciding.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Hes 21 years old and can use some ....guidance and offensive discipline

He's fine as a potential bench scorer. Anyone who can drop back to back 40 pt games at 21 years old is interesting.

Look...if he ain't 6'8 with a 7 foot wingspan...they ain't interested.

Once again...next to last in half-court offence and fg%...and all people talk about are getting guys who can't shoot and score.

I'd rather watch Cam getting buckets than Dalano Banton bricking 3s

If your idea is to have him as a throw in, then sure. But to have this guy as any sort of significant pieces, I disagree with heavily.

I will admit I'm not a fan of this type of player archetype and that probably heavily skews my view of him in a negative way. These guys can sometimes provide spark as a 6th man type of player when you can reign them in, but I think they will also spend a lot of important moments on the bench because they would be a net negative. We had a similar player in Terrence Davis.

my man, you make great points that a lot of people will agree with every bullet point there, but at this point we're at the mercy of this front office and we still have no idea what they really believe and think. Going the youth route would make total sense and I've argued for that direction for a while now but who knows what the fk they'll do.

Players are way more efficient now than they were when Dion entered the league. Cam's TS% is 56% which is probably league average for his position. He's not a good basketball player. In fact, you can argue he's a horrible basketball player if you look at all the popular impact metrics as voted on by NBA teams.

Do I care if he's a throw in? No, I don't. That's fine. But some of you are putting him in as a main piece for guys like OG and Fred.

The fact that no one was even talking about Cam Thomas last week tells you everything you need to know about how much you guys are overreacting to a couple high scoring games.

I watched the highlights he plays like gary trent on offense. Him and Gary on the same team would be lol/headache inducing. Just straight take your turn size up into long jumpers.
