Nets looking to move DFS and/or Spence immediately.

At its core I see this trade as a salary dump. Mavs look to retool around Luka in the off-season. I don't hate it.

This is interesting. Looks like the Nets want to get Toronto involved so they can get FVV. Can the Mavs find a way to also get Gary Trent Jr?

Don't see a point to GTJ on this team when we already have THJ. He's a better player for sure but attaining GTJ means attaching more assets. Those assets need to be allocated to our position needs, not a replication of a current roster skill set. Not to mention, he's an impending FA as well. There is no way Cuban gives a big contract to Kyrie, Wood AND GTJ. He's rich but he ain't Balmer.

That's certainly not the intention. If we were looking to outright dump salary those were not the players and contracts we'd like to get rid of. Your scenario is the worst case outcome of this trade.

I have a question about Markieff Morris. What exactly are we getting in him? I’ve heard some Nets fans say he’s washed. Is he still capable of being that goon off the bench? Come in the game and play some defense, hit a couple shots but really in there just to get under people’s skin, can he still do that? I think injecting some attitude into the culture would do them some good.

And that first game against Denver might be awkward considering how close Luka and Jokic are.

I asked that question over in the Nets board and the general response seemed to be that he's washed and super slow defensively but can hit 3s, rebound and start fights.

Mavs get a disruptor ni Kieff. Similar to a Pat Beverly, when the momentum is on the other side, he can just jump in and start a scuffle. Throws off the momentum.

Yeah. And he wouldnt get major minutes too.

I was thinking he’d get maybe 12 min per game depending on when he’s needed.

I wonder if Kieff can play small ball center in the palyoffs. Like Taj Gibson.

You know who comes out total winners with this deal? The sponsors and season ticket holders who bought low. Guys like Chime, everybody who advertises with the Mavs, everybody who bought low on them this year will get more eyeballs and more foot traffic going to them because Kyrie is such a polarizing talent. Prices will go up next year for sure if Kyrie decides to re-sign with the Mavs. They instantly become must-see TV.
