How many second rounders will they include in the trade to ship to a third team as my guess, that is what will happen. Two second rounders, do I hear a third?

Surprised we haven't heard Josh Richardson's name in trade rumors. He's on an expiring deal and could be a useful bench piece for a playoff team.
I'd be fine pulling the Spurs in on a Crowder deal for him.

Jake has the Suns talking about
OG
FVV
D'Lo Russell
Jake wrote this - but I think the Durant ship has sailed. He is even older next year! To me, its D'lo -- depending on price.
The Pelicans, Grizzlies, Knicks, Pacers, Trail Blazers, Lakers, Suns and Nets have all been linked to Anunoby in recent days. Although the Raptors, sources said, have communicated asking prices for Anunoby that rival front offices feel are quite steep. There appears varying interest in the talented 24-year-old wing, who emerged as an early-season Defensive Player of the Year candidate. But officials from multiple teams also told Yahoo Sports they expect the number of front offices quietly preparing for Kevin Durant to become available via trade this offseason will likely dampen the Raptors’ bidding war for Anunoby’s services, at least to some degree. Why would Phoenix, for example, mortgage multiple first-round picks for Toronto’s swingman and eliminate itself from any potential Durant sweepstakes come July?

Squeeze the Bucks for a first for Crowder. Flip that first + some seconds and expirings for Clarkson + Vanderbilt. If not Clarkson then one of the other scoring guards that may be available like Rozier, Hield, Bogdan, or Gordon (if cheap). This seems the most realistic approach to address our needs without mortgaging the future. I’d love to make a big splash for a star but that’s not James’ modus operandi. Even this suggestion is probably pie in the sky. I do believe the FVV interest is real but I don’t really see it while Paul is still here.

Yeah this is why team building is hard. Everyone can scream about wanting to make a big move but once you've started dealing away future firsts you better be right because your not getting multiple swings. And in today's NBA there's always the chance of the next star popping available. But you can also **** yourself by never making a move in hopes of landing that perfect guy in the future. Danny Ainge was accused of this all the time in Boston.BobbieL wrote:Jake has the Suns talking about

As far as OG specifically I'm on the fence. I really like him but I don't think he's quite at the level that I would empty the cubbord for him. Especially since they will soon have a giant hole at PG and already have Bridges and Cam under team control (I think there's 0 chance they let Cam walk for nothing this summer).

I'll be absolutely shocked if OG isn't traded this week. Toronto is smart and it's a seller's market for a guy lots of teams can use. They'll cash the hell in.

IDK...for the Bucks to go "all in" probably means to trade Connaughton and I don't want him.
Hopefully they are working with a third team.

I have been going back and forth with a guy on twitter, Russ Morin - lakers fan . I suggested this since Paul was already brought up to the Nets - so why not the Lakers. The Suns are in a tough spot next year with Paul - do they pay him 31m or do they stretch him for 16m. Its not my money. The big drawback is the health of Hayward. But you can do this deal as well maybe move Saric/Jock with a 2nd for Richardson. I would like russell - but not really FVV

Yeah! I mentioned him awhile back. The spurs were only asking for a 2nd for him! I suggested we look to add him, but no replies.......lol. Isn't he a pretty good ballhandler as well? We could look to add him for a second, and then combine static and Shamet or Crowder/ Shamet/ Payne/ 1st for Van Vleet. That'd give us a bench backcourt of Van Vleet/ Richardson. Not too bad!

I wonder if the Bulls quietly shop DeRozan. I wouldn't pay a king's ransom for him but he's a guy with enough playmaking skills that it could work in a lineup with Booker as a PG.

Re: 2022-23 Season Discussion and Speculation 4 - Trade season continues - No player trade restrictions
I must be in the minority here. I don't care about the trade deadline. Cam Payne is better when healthy than most PGs. Cam Jo better than the PFs we've talked about. When Ayton's at his best, he's worth his max deal.
Most realistic positive outcome that I can see is a Torrey Craig-level 9th/10th man.
Most of all I'm just hoping we don't hamstring ourselves with a bad contract or giving up picks for a borderline rotation player!

Not sure as to his sources, but he does have 18,000 followers and doesn't seem to post anything too provocative.

NinjaBro wrote:OG wants out. He denies it but it's 100% leaked by his agents Klutch and most likely true. What it comes down to is he wants a bigger role. He won't get that here with Siakam and FVV and now with Barnes, the writing is on the wall. Earlier in the season when Siakam was out with a shoulder surgery Nurse had OG handle the ball more and he was averaging 20+ pts per game. He clearly wants that role again as he feels he's more than the player he's shown in Toronto. I don't blame him in a way. He has the toughest assignment every night guarding the opposing teams best offensive player. He shuts down Luka, Brunson, Harden, only to see FVV and Trent take all the shots. Must be infuriating as a player. Masai doesn't want to trade him but if the reports are true then a trade has to be explored before we lose him for nothing which would be a disaster.Bogyo wrote:NinjaBro wrote:Raptors aren't trading for Simmons stop it. Just because it's being discussed doesn't mean masai wants him. The Nets have been trying to pawn off Simmons to everyone they've been talking to so naturally it's been discussed. The fact that the Nets couldn't swindle any more value from the raptors in a 3 team trade with the Mavs in the Kyrie trade tells you all you need to know.
Good you are around, wanted to ask a Raps fan, but didnt bother enough to go to your board.
Whats the plan there? I understand trying to get rid of FVV and GTJ. Both short and trigger happy, not able to properly run offense while being overpaid and wanting more soon, and the age thing. If you go ahead with that and its a rebuild I understand trying to get Siakam out for the most. But then why the rumours about OG? Him and Barnes are the same age, and the wing core of a contender... Or if you trade OG, then why the rumours about Siakam? Tear it all down and build around Barnes and whatever you get? That seems a little overboard...
Teams are asking for Siakam. By all accounts he's happy in toronto. He's gotten better and better every single season and currently having his best year averaging 25/8/6. Adds to his game every year and is always a menace on defense, very coachable. Masai won't trade him unless he gets an offer that will blow his titties away.
Thanks for the insight Bro.
(Not that it matters, but if I had the choice I'd take the kings ransome for Siakam, sell FVV and GTJ for whatever bag of peanuts I can get, and build around Scottie, OG, Precious, and Koloko... get a younger PG and C and whatever wing in next 2 years draft or from the package for Siakam, and contend a year or 2 later.)
# waiting for the next chapter
