I was thinking about this yesterday like if KD is gonna end up playing with like Siakam and Fred anyways why the **** would we not just trade for Durant? lmao

Instead of taking on trash like Ben and picks that are like 2027-2029.

We're in a much better situation than they are. No Simmons.

The best team to trade for Durant is the Rockets. They can give the Nets their picks back and sign Kyrie on the offseason. Lol.

Harden/Durrant? That'd be classic.

lol. They probably trade a heavily protected 2nd that doesn't convey and BK saves taxes to like $4 million this year.

Opens up a roster spot. Trade for OG or FVV incoming?

The Nets are not actively engaged with Toronto about a trade for OG Anunoby per
@JakeLFischer
.

Word around the league is that the Raptors asking price for the young wing is extremely high.

I think the door is closed for a nets trade right now unless Durant is involved. I think nets were trying to get Toronto to go in on a 3 team trade but that Irving trade is now finalized.

If KD doesn’t make the Finals this year, he’s asking out. Book it.

Yeah. This doesn't really stop a Fred trade, as picks/young players is what they're trying to do now anyway.

And even more incentive to keep OG if the market is softening because of KD. You're keeping the highly valued premium asset that everyone wants available in the summer.

He's coming off the bench for 2 reasons:

1. He's not as good a shooter as Gary. The space helps Paolo/Franz/Markelle operate.

2. He's returning from injury and been on a minutes restriction.

They projected him to be a starter before the season, ALONGSIDE MARKELLE, but injuries have been an issue. He's finally settling in, in a limited role, that allows him to develop with the 2nd unit and hopefully stay healthy so he can have a healthy off-season.

I don't think he slots as a "TWO" with Fultz at all. And neither does Fultz((averagish shooter). Cole is really a perfect bench guard who is "instant offense". Again, I ask--where does Suggs fit long term? Fred works as a two alongside Fultz where Fultz can take point of attack. Suggs is really kind of a wasted luxury at this point.

Suggs can fit the same way VV can next to Fultz; he's just a worse shooter at this point. His shot is coming along (trending up) though but his defense and court vision are elite. Both players are combo guards and can handle defending either guard position. Orl is OK with his current role off the bench. Every player requires their own development plan; Jalen's is just different because when thrown into the fire, he kept getting injured. This process is more controlled and suits him well. He's starting to thrive consistently.

It's a slow news day when 25% shooting Kessler Edwards is the biggest story of the day.

Let's hope this isn't the biggest deal that is made over the next two days.

Suggs would make our starting 5 more unwatchable than it already is.

We have enough project players on our roster - our starting 5 is too talented for the Raptors to be spending time and energy rehabbing Jalen Suggs.

The Nets have now SF Royce, SF Ben and now SF DFS as top defenders...then you add SF Warren , SF Joe Harris (and even SF Yuta.
I would understand them chasing FVV, but OG? How many SF/SF defenders do they want? "more"? I dont know how believable that story is.

My guess is the Fred S and T will be much harder .. as someone pointed out earlier, Raps knew Lowry wanted the Heat and likely were confident to hold him at the deadline since they could forsee a trade for Precious (their target) and a filler (Dragic) to make it work. Too difficult to do that now with Fred.

FVV can go ORL for free

Are we really going to take that risk?

This report that were targeting a KD trade in the offseason would suggest we're keeping OG, GTJ, and potentially Fred too. If targeting Durant in the offseason is your goal, why would you trade win-now assets for future ones?

I really don't want another Giannis situ where we pause everything for one, unlikely shot at a superstar. If we don't get Durant - then what? Run it back waiting for the next superstar. No thanks.

If there is any intention to trade Fred I think it will happen soon. I can’t imagine holding Fred out tomorrow and risking not being able to trade him. That would make for a messy locker room.

Guaranteed Masai is not trading any core players, GM's will stop calling after Wed afternoon because Masai really is not looking to trade anyone and is just trying to find someone to skin

Wow this sort of detonates a big option for Toronto if Dallas is serious about Ayton.
