I think William Lou was pissed that Blake Murphy said he would trade FVV for Jalen Suggs lol.

Lou said he would rather have Cam Thomas than Suggs because the Raptors need scoring. He also thinks FVV scoring more is making this team a better offensive team.

I think I am done taking anything William Lou says seriously. Yikes. Thankfully Blake Murphy also said the 10th offensive rating for the Raptors makes no sense.

Wow this sort of detonates a big option for Toronto if Dallas is serious about Ayton.

Option for what? People were thinking that we were going to trade Siakam for Ayton and now this guy is saying Ayton's value is an expiring and a 30 year old one dimensional shooter.

Who knows what Toronto was offering? If Phoenix just pivots to Dallas that removes a starting C from the list of trade possibilities. I do agree that for Ayton that is a really low offer, but there is likely more to it, maybe even a third team.

Wow this sort of detonates a big option for Toronto if Dallas is serious about Ayton.

noone wants Ayton here apparently. our fanbase is fickle. short of a superstar talent, everyone is a scrub.

all draftpicks are all superstars.

his contract is the biggest issue. You're basically paying him the same money as Pascal to play like JV. Could he improve? Sure. But how much? Will he ever justify the contract he's on? How do you plan around his contract to address other areas of need?

To be good, an NBA centre needs to either to be a floor spacer who can hit the 3 and play enough defence to survive, or absolutely amazing at defence, rebounding, shot blocking and finishing at the rim. Ayton doesn't fall into either of those categories, he works fine on a team where there's 3 point shooting at every other position and he can be the 3rd or 4th best player on the floor, but that's not a player I would want at $31M/year and climbing. There's a reason Phoenix is making him available when they're trying to win now.

Draft picks are valuable because they are the currency the league operates on. It's not that we think every pick will turn into a star, it's that we want enough currency to be able to buy the next star who wants out in a trade. More picks means more currency to outbid other teams when a desirable player comes on the market.

They got 2 first round picks from the Harden Simmons trade and 1 from the Dallas trade.

At this point what's stopping us from just trading one of the starters (Fred) then waiting for KD to ask out in the offseason?

If you swing and miss at KD you can pivot into trading Pascal and OG again and get the best packages available from the other teams that missed out on KD.

I don’t like the idea of helping out the Clippers. Send Fred anywhere else IMO.
