If we’re going to do something, it seems there might be a few rumors floating around. Not looking like we will make a move.

Yeah at this point a quiet deadline seems the most likely.

That’s not to say a move couldn’t come out of left field- it happens. But it seems less likely.

Too lazy to look it up, but don’t most of them wind up on the deadline day rather then the days leading up to it?

Regardless of draft lottery outcomes, I don't think there is any reason to bring both Bojan and Bey back next season. Of course one of the other could be dealt come the off-season. I think Bojan's value is at it's peak right now though. I mean dude is 33 yrs old. I have no real interest in a late FRP for him though, I like the unprotected Lakers 2027 FRP much more for the potential it could be Otis Thorpe trade 2.0.

Who are some dudes Weaver has been linked to as after in the past - Collins has been linked to Detroit last season at points, then there was his stated love for Pat Williams in that draft. Weaver had interest in Bagley for a year or so before finally pulling trigger on getting him.

Yes.

Last year they started happening two days before, a few the day before, and then several the final day. Obviously I’m just getting bored looking at trade trackers when nothing is happening.

Here we go. :D

Spurs have acquired Dewayne Dedmon + a 2nd from Heat for cash considerations.

* Dedmon sure has been involved in some weird trades.

Weavers seemed to had interest in Cam Reddish in the past. Not terribly exciting but that’s one to consider.

With the Kyrie trade out of the way, we’re in the “who?!” portion of the deadline. Nets unloaded Kessler Edwards (had to look up who he is) and Dewayne Dedmon got traded by the Heat. Plus you have Furkan Korkmaz requesting a trade out of Philadelphia.

That's right. Makes me believe that rumor would have legs though not sure Weaver wants that FRP back - the long protections almost seem like he was tying his hands from trading FRP's ie Gores couldn't come to him and force another Blake Griffin deal. Also Weaver wanted Knox in Rose deal not DSIII, another guy he had reported interest in and acquired later.

I agree. Seems like we could easily get in on this. It would negatively impact our cap next year though. And does this really make us much better? I’d prefer Cam/Toppin. That and our pick for Bogdonovich? I think we’ve thrown that out there before. Seems like a good trade to me if we can’t get anything better for Bogey.

As much as I’d like to see any trade, I don’t want us to make a marginal one. Keep our cap space and then somehow leverage that into a difference maker this summer. I did just post about getting Toppin and Cam, but these guys barely make our rotation unless they have some kind of crazy breakout. Can we get a sign/trade with a 3D wing this summer?

Omari Sankofa reports both of our two way players are with the Pistons in Cleveland. Strange but probably just insurance in case a deal happens. Not really sure why we wasted a spot on Buddy.

I just wonder if we have a fit for Toppin enough to develop and pay him.

I'm sensing a little calm before the storm. Nothing but intuition. No idea if Pistons will be involved, but I do think when we look back, we'll be surprised by how much player movement there was in this trade deadline.

This season feels very wide open.... defending champs aren't a guaranteed 1st round winner IMO. Could make a decent case for at least 8 or 9 different teams being in the Finals this year.

If memeory serves we got on Weaver for not moving Grant earlier, but he parlayed him into Duren at draft time. Bogs could be moved in a similar way.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy
