I almost think its the opposite. Shams and Woj obviously break news the fastest when something actually happens, but they very clearly are mouthpieces for certain organizations and spin rumors the way a team/executive wants them to be spun. Woj was insisting in the days up to last year's deadline that there were no Harden/Simmons discussions when that was obviously untrue. He reported what the Nets FO wanted him to report. I don't listen to anything Woj says about LeBron/Klutch because he's not in with them, when LeBron/Klutch want to leak something its Haynes or Shams.

Simmons, on the other hand, just knows a bunch of NBA people more casually and passes on the general buzz more informally. I wouldn't put SAS in the same category as Simmons.

That's true with Woj. Just thinking about the big mouthpieces. Haynes and Shams 100%

Simmons and SAS I feel like have sources but the sources aren't really connected (more casual like u said) and so their information is blown out of proportion and may not be close to happening in reality

most "journalists" these days are just corporate mouthpieces or bloggers who get paid to repost tweets. "sources" make for dramatic stories which drives revenue which is obviously more important than integrity or doing actual investigative work.

100% my thoughts (as a Nuggets fan). If we can't get someone who will seriously increase our title chances--and it doesn't sound like any team is dumb enough to do that--I'd much rather we just get draft picks for him. We've lost a lot of draft picks in recent years, this is a perfect opportunity to restock. I don't want to blow it on a backup big who will be 2% better than Zeke Nnaji in the 8 minutes he'll play per playoff game.
