Re: Game 53: 76ers vs Celtics
Can we beat the Celtics? Yes...Absolutely. The thing is, we have a way of beating ourselves. It happened in both the Orlando loss and the NY loss. We beat ourselves, play sloppy at times, the offense gets stagnant, we give up and1 3's, we throw the ball out of bounds, we get called for a flagrant one, we commit an offensive foul. If we don't beat ourselves, we can win this game. It's that simple. As long as we have Joel Embiid we can beat anyone team in this league.

Are the celtics bigger and more athletic than the sixers?

Just asking here for solid ball movement and PnR spamming....then we'll be at least competitive tonight.

But that's precisely why this team isn't demonstrating the mettle necessary to advance beyond the second round like usual -- because it has "hiccup" games like that, which again reflect the absence of that "driven" quality a team needs to win on the road in the second round.
When this team was down late in the 4th quarter against the Knicks on a weekend national TV game the other day, I struggled to determine which player would take it upon himself to will the team to victory by stepping up his game at that time and making the difference.
And that's the central problem. No team wins the NBA championship without such a player. And in fact they don't typically make it past the second round.

Not going to be watching this one live as I have stuff to do tonight. If we do lose, hopefully it will compel Morey to make a move before 3 pm ET tomorrow.

This is the first time I’m waiting for a live game all year.
To be clear: I took a day off (Thursday). It’s 1.22 am in Istanbul.
Whatever happens, happens.
I’m going to be drunk today.

The sixers struggle mightily against teams with athletic, 3-level-scoring wings.

I'm not sure if you're agreeing with me or trying to argue with me. First of all, I agree with you on this particular post. I saw and felt the same thing against the Knicks the other night. The thing is, this team has a way of letting you that it's going to lose and I was just throwing out some of the tell tale signs that things aren't going to go in our favor. It also is always a guarantee that once an opposing single player starts raining threes on us...It's OVER. CJ McCollum, Zach Lavine, Evan Fkn Fournier of all people. Any combination of that, sloppy play, uninspired effort, whining about calls, lazy passes, turnovers, not hustling for rebounds...These are all the signs. This team currently does not run like a championship team runs. The one thing in common with all winning teams is they run like a well oiled machine. This team is a Ferrari that sometimes runs like a bad ass ride, but also spends a lot of time at a mechanics shop. If we can ever get it right, we'll be there. It starts with a perfectly healthy Joel Embiid, then it starts with a mentally focused Joel Embiid, and then it ends with Joel Embiid leading by example. We have the players, we have the roster to support him, I personally think it's all up to him.

Another easy loss here, congrats Celtics! oh well at least Embiid can score more points without his daddy guarding him, the MVP quest continues!

Being a little hard on Horford aren't we? I mean.... He's got more range than that title.

Re: Game 53: 76ers vs Celtics
I see the Celtics are playing 4d chess by resting their starting PF and C to deliberately lose this game to make the Sixers mistakenly believe that we're good enough to beat them in the playoffs and thus Morey won't make any moves by tomorrow.

Why is 6ft Melton on 6'9 Tatum?
