That's ridiculous. The Nets can't hope for anything like that now that he will be a year older with ANOTHER injury to his other knee. He now had an MCL bruise on each knee and a torn achilles, is 35 and has played less than a full season in 3 years.

They couldn't even get a deal like that last summer.

Completely disagree. Scottie isn't nearly as good as he was last year...and this board has obviously spoken of how good OG is/isn't. If Marks called Masai right now and offered that deal, Masai is driving over to Scottie's place, picking him up and taking him to the airport. Immediately.

Start a poll on the GB if you don't believe me.

So you're saying you think Scottie peaked as a rookie?

Nope. I said he's not as good as last year. He also will never be as good as Durant

The Brooklyn Nets may be coming off their position that they unequivocally won't trade Kevin Durant, which is a change from their posture last offseason. Brooklyn's position appears to have changed following the trade request of Kyrie Irving. While Durant and the Nets are discussing their future together, a trade could still be more likely in the offseason than at the trade deadline.

"Now that Kyrie has been traded, maybe the Nets' position on not trading Durant as it really was kind of last summer may change," said Brian Windhorst. "That is an interesting development that has happened over the last 48 hours since the Kyrie trade from people that I've talked to."

When Durant requested a trade last offseason, he had the Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat atop his list. The Memphis Grizzlies, Toronto Raptors and New Orleans Pelicans were three other franchises widely considered as having the necessary assets to trade for Durant.

Durant has three more seasons remaining on his contract with the Nets.

What Durant is thinking about his situation is one of the biggest questions in the league that remains largely unknown.

BRIAN WINDHORST/ESPN

I hate reports like this because it is complete speculation that it MAY change, but doesn't say it HAS changed and says they don't what Durant is thinking about the situation.

Yet people will read into it as if they definitely want to trade him and he definitely wants out.

Now that could happen and we would find out, but it's anyone's guess at this point.

Ya Durant is a generational talent not a lot of those exist. But at this point a 20 year old healthy Barnes is not far from a 35 year old often broken down Durant.

Basically Slim, you are saying Scottie's potential last year seemed higher than what it seems like this year. This year, his ceiling has been lowered.

I don't know why people think two picks 4 and 6 years from now is better than DFS, Dinwiddie and a first when you have the pieces to compete now...meaning are full of vets and complementary players along with a young rising star in Cam Thomas.

Does no one think Cam Thomas can be a 2nd option to KD being a 1st option?

I can see rebuilding but it's hard to do in their position, and picks in 27 and 29 don't help and it's kind of too late to tank for a really good pick this year.

It's only been like a year and a half unless you are going back to when we offered him the max in RFA.

I think the person we have talked about the longest on the board is Kevin Love. That goes back to at least 14 or 15.

We need to get the rest of the guys from his draft class. Where is Oden these days?

So this would be the basic foundation of the deal then?
But with the Flakers also getting Vanderbilt and Beasley. :-?

I thought i heard him imply/say that the team will look different after the deadline. Maybe i was hearing what i wanted to hear haha.

He honestly didn't say anything specific. He wants to win, money follows success, he won't hurt our future to make the present better, he thinks we have a good team but there's always room to improve and we will always try to win.

I like that part.

I still think just getting something ok for Crowder and signing Love after buyout would be fine.

****, so we end up playing the same team against the Hawks who beat us by 32 last week? I won't be watching that.

We played well against the Celtics and Pistons and Book was obviously rusty. We may not win but him playing doesn't guarantee that either. I'd rather they be careful. It would really suck if he aggravated it again.

Paul/Booker/Bridges/Almost Durant/Almost Durant

Great lineup JJ!!

I think this is the third deadline in a row they've shopped Gordon and he's always connected to the suns.
