WTF, the Lakers just pulled a great haul for virtually nothing given up on their end.

Both Beasley and Russell can be flamethrowers from three. Which has always been their biggest issue. And Vandy gives them a versatile defender. Could be really nasty when paired next to Davis.

Lakers might be on the verge of surging, here.

From bottom of the league to barely play in.

Too many things need to go right for LA. LeBron's ankle is in trouble. AD is a mopey bitch. DLO is LOL!

Still won't be a ring for LeBron though. Russell is their franchise player.

Sorry but Austin Reeves will lead that team in ring shares if they win.

Im not sure that it makes a difference at this point they maybe too far back.

People thinking Utah didn't get enough need to understand the guys they traded were basically throw-in from other deals.

Also Westbrook salary is mostly paid for at this point. The guys they traded with the exception of Vanderbilt are not the most valuable rentals anyways. Conley has 14.3M of his contract guaranteed next year. I am surprised he was able to be moved at all.

I think both the Lakers and Utah made out well. Minnesota I have no idea what they are doing.

Boy I get that the Lakers pick could be nice, but Ainge has to be tanking on purpose. Jazz are playing too well so he sent away good players and brought in Westbrook to ensure the loses come.

Probably the same. First round with a 50/50 shot at the second round.

I don't think Ainge made out bad at all. Vanderbilt is the only valuable piece he gave up. He basically got a first and got the Lakers to take Conley back who is a pretty obvious - asset. Beasley wasn't worth much if anything.

What makes it a really good trade for the Lakers is the Minn portion of the deal. You guys have to realize that Conley is actually owed much more money than Westbrook at this point. Westbrook makes 47M. However, 55 games have already been played. Which means he is owed somewhere around 15.5M. Conley makes 23M. Which means 7.6M is owed.

However, Conley also has a partial guarantee next year of 14.3M which means if you basically wanted to treat him as an expiring he would be owed 22M. If you pick up his option he is owed 24.4M next year for a total of 32M. Either way, you are paying him more than Westbrook who is a true expiring and will be completely off the books after this year. The Lakers could have taken Conley but didn't they found a sucker in Minnesota who was willing to take him on for a 2nd and give up Russell in the process.

That really has nothing to do with Ainge though. He basically managed to do a bunch of things he wanted from this deal: He got to free up cap room next year to make more deals by trading Conley, he got a 1st rounder for Vanderbilt, and he threw in Beasley who has little to no value. He can also hold onto Westbrook until after the deadline incase some team wants to remove salary for picks.

Yea, I don't get it. They just gave the Lakers a bunch of playable assets who will complement LeBron and Davis well for Westbrook, who is a massive negative, and a protected first round pick. Just another Lakers heist.

Don’t care what we do at the deadline. Just like the last 5 years this team is going nowhere. 2nd round fodder once again.
